I personally don’t think Ferrari will ever show their cards yet by doing a super fast quali lap; for that I think we gonna have to wait until Q3 in Melbourne.

I’m totally OK with that as long as our car is super fast and takes two TOP spots…

    Paolo Filisetti @paolofilise

looking at the first three times today.Misjudgement can be very easy to happen: To avoid it, think that Perez repeat his best lap of yday

RIcciardo run its best lap towards the end in a short stint. While Alonso did it during a long stint. So guesswho is in very good shape...

Seems the upwash is made to deflect on either side of centre of rear wing (off centred), gain may not be in centralising the upwash with the Y-winglets which aims at the middle part

Alonso's race simulation looks good. The times are consistent suggesting our car is good on the tyres. The times are also reasonable.

In comparison, Rosberg's times were between 1:39 to 1:42 on the soft compound during his race simulation of S, S, M.

In addition, Rosberg did a 2 stop race simulation while Alonso did a 3 stop simulation. So it's very likely Alonso had more fuel onboard than Rosberg yet equalled or bettered Rosberg's lap times. We're looking good!

we had the same gloom and doom before the first race these last few years.
if we are a little less doomed as last year,i am happy.
bring on those first few races and see where we are then

    From Autosport:

"Alonso and team-mate Kimi Raikkonen have one more day of testing each before the first race of the season, and despite the laptimes on his race run catching the eye of some rival teams, the two-time world champion believes that Ferrari is not quite ready."

Alonso tried to play down the significance of his race run, saying that while he was able to complete the 57-lap distance without interruption, he was having to manage a lot of issues with the car.

"It was OK, we could have had a better one," he said. "We still had some issues during the laps.

"We tried to compensate with some changes that you can do on the steering wheel to play a little bit.

So there were issues during the race run, but the pace was still apparently OK.

That said, Alonso still wants to get more out of the car:

"We still have two more days that are crucial for us in terms of performance," Alonso told reporters in the Sakhir paddock.

"We really need to exploit the potential of the car. Tomorrow with Kimi and then on the last day we need to...we must have a smooth test and good days to arrive in Australia at 100 per cent.

"I think right now we are missing something."

122-laps now that's more like it!

And a very good lap time to top it off...GREAT! Way to go guys! Hopefully this kind of progress will continue from here on.

Since our drivers are running their respective car numbers, I take it we're testing with two cars. Is it not bettet to test with one and then replicate the final product? or are they merely changing the stickers each time?

that was my question also; do they (drivers) ACTUALLY have their own car that each is testing??

OR, there is only ONE car and they just put different numbers on it?? 14 or 7 depending whos driving that day

if there are 2 cars why not have both drivers at the track. work on one while other is on track. the send other driver/car out while working on first.
maybe there is a rule for that

That's right, the testing rules only allow each time to run 1 car. So if something goes wrong, they cannot send out a spare car either since a 2nd car is not allowed.

Setting such a high rake should tend to make the rear wing work harder, maybe attack the rear wing flap angle more thereby reducing drag more when he flap opens on straight line.

Do not forget who pioneered this setup after the 2009 rule change. We may be laughing at them now but RBR know their aero and when (if) Renault get their power unit running at expected levels they probably will be fighting with the front runners. But to me that rake setup is just for testing purposes because it looks from this angle extremely high and not very efficient.

The sporting regulations say, that no testing may take place with more than one car per day
