Very frustrated that they have persisted with this approach at the front. You only have to look at what happened to mclarens car last year to see. Sorry just a bit of a rant. Nothing to do with power delivery. I would be interested to see whether they could somehow compare to two back to back. Anyway if they win regardless who cares
They persisted wid pull rod beause they have got a better aero setup wid channeling air across the suspension arms with a higher chassis front. But how much they extract performance at the back with it is still left to be discovered with the faulty windtunnel they had. Last year it wasnt beause pull rod was inferior , but de couldn't figure out how to strenghten the flow with the exhaust above the trailing edges of the diffuser.

Yep can't dispute the aerodynamic benefit. As with everything there is an opportunity cost, in this case more aero gain in high speed corners vs loss of mechanical grip in the low speed stuff where aero is proportionally less significant. It still intrigues me that mclaren fell back so quickly from a very quick car to nowhere with that change. Interesting though to see how we go in the wet and at tracks like Monaco, with two drivers who are usually great in both situations.

Coming into the corner the rear doesnt follow the front , the front hit the curb, rear gives up ,looses traction and slides causing the front to move in, brakes and adjust opp lock . Hmm what am i missing or is it a false pretence of understeer

"rear gives up" or back of car over-rotated, that is oversteer.

Yeah, mid corner oversteer, initiated when the left front hits the curb. In the past ferraris rode the curbs well, guess it can be refined through setup, but again I wonder what the pull rod front is contributing to this.

Interesting but not Ferrari related, nico rosberg believes that come china, the cars could hit upto 240 mph or 370 kmh down the straight.. That would be quite impressive

most likely busy with setup, Kimi is very specific with this, remember the same happening with Lotus in 2012

Well, but the team had the night to do it - it is not the first day of testing...
It is not a panic. I just try to understand what the reason of delay is;)

They most likely did basic setup overnight and now fine tuning after installation lap...I could be wrong but it's the most likely scenario

"How quick are Ferrari? That's one of the over-riding questions of testing so far. Fernando Alonso was second fastest to Force India's Sergio Perez on Friday on headline times. But his race run was some way off that of Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes. They were at different times of the day, and Hamilton did a handful fewer laps and had a fractured run so they were not perfectly comparable, but on average the Ferrari was about 0.9secs a lap down on the Mercedes.

"Alonso said he had had some 'issues' with the car which had slowed him down, but added: 'We really need to exploit the potential of the car. Saturday with Kimi and then on the last day we need to... we must have a smooth test and good days to arrive in Australia at 100%. I think right now we are missing something.'"

Good morning scuderia people and fans. I am new here!! I am a big Kimi fan (my girlfriend is Finnish), but I believe that Alonso is actual the best driver of this generation. So I am pretty excited by this year, both driving together. I have followed the conversation on this forum since the Jerez tests. As Kimi said (and believe me, he is a Fin, read honest and no bs), we don't know where we stand compared to competition. I am sure every team has still some issues. I have one request at this stage: please send link of the website where we can follow the test day live (lap time, laps).

I think we are preparing for race simulation runs, while trying to find the optimal setup, hence why Kimi goes in and out all the time.
