Still think that Williams is the only team that pushed all the way.

You relax! I wasn't imposing anything on anybody, I was just saying. And you're right, everybody has the right to their own opinion, but mindlessly bashing the team when the season hasn't even begun yet is wrong.

Not surprised by that at all. Question is how confident is he really that we will improve come Melbourne? He also mentions McLaren and Force India. We may be fighting with them if we don't improve. I personally think there is still room for improvement but then again this Stefano who never says how bad a situation really is when it's very bad. We have to wait and see.

Stefano's assessment is probably in line with most opinions in the paddock. And if Stefano himself says that, then we have to keep our fingers crossed that we find something soon.

I wasn't making an accusation, I know you were just saying and I agree with you that people saying "close the curtain let's prepare for 2015" are wrong and it is mindless bashing. Most pessimists here don't sound like that, they are just disappointed we seem to be not in the top 2, which is understandable.

Season is long. If there's a moment too early to panic, i believe it's now. We might be getting an update package for Melbourne, which is i think the reason why Stefano said the balance could change. Even if it doesn't, it's a new year, where lap time isn't everything

So...Felipe vs. Lewis PART II ?
Meanwhile, it either says something or just nothing that Alonso, Schumacher and Raikkonen have reputedly spared a F1 podium on five occasions and Fernando has stood on the top step on every occasion. He's F1's first among equals. (PG)

There will be a lot of retirements, the fastest car is not necessarily the best.

Its good to have so many up there at the start as it takes more places away from Redbull.

If Vergne can do 1:35:701 in a Toro Rosso with a Renault engine then it would be an awful mistake to count out Red Bull.
They could well surprise everyone in Melbourne.

An absolute disgrace. We keep sliding down the grid every year and overtaken by the likes of Lotus and now Williams. What on earth are the team doing and how can we ALWAYS struggle to design a front line car? Stefano must go, he should have sacked Fry and Tombazis in early 2012, they cant design fast cars. Disaster for Ferrari, a season over before it started.

To me the dribble about speed not being important this season is just that. Dribble. This is racing. All cars will start with 100kg of fuel, and the car that finishes faster than the rest wins. The only time speed won't matter is if all but one car retire. As long as two or more cars finish the race, it's the fastest of them that will be the winner.

Everything but that girl on fire to win is fine by me lol.

Taxi company will eat his tyres again hopefully and only be fast in Q while we take the points in the race.

IMO, extra speed will give a team more head room to navigate around any potential issues. They can open up an early gap if they need to, they have extra headroom to tune the car down without being slower than others, etc etc... Just IMO, but yeah I don't think we can count out raw pace.

Haha no no. I for one am done with crossing fingers for Ferrari. I'm not putting myself through all that again. I'll just laugh at our miserable selves until we get our act together. No stress.

Behind Williams? Seriously? There were some who said Massa would be knocking to get back into the Ferrari- maybe it will be more Kimi knocking at Williams for the drive he didn't want at first

Well done for your intelligent contribution, you are obviously not a Ferrari fan and when Alonso win the drivers title lets see what you have to say then.

I don't think Fernando will 'love' that, and you can't compare them anymore anyway, because they sit in different cars now.

There was no need for Stefano to release that statement unless of course the purpose is to manage expectations come Melbourne. It can also be a wake up call for the Ferrari team just his way of putting it. I was somewhat convinced that we are the 3rd fastest team today but after Stefano's statement I'm not so sure. The fact that he's mentioned McLaren and Force India isn't pleasant reading. Even if we improve so will they. We have to count on the Mercedes engine being more unreliable than the Ferrari which may or may not balance things in our favour. Pray and hope guys that we'll improve that's all we can really do at this stage.

Real fans have a right to be frustrated after 4 years of failure to design a top car. The SAME story season after season, even after regulation changes, its just unbelievable, like groundhog day.
