    Live timing

I know this has been discussed in FP thread already but it deserves its own thread and I also wanted to say thank you to FOM for downgrading the live timing web application!

I do not want to follow the times on a tiny android device, nor want me to buy a new tablet.

Somebody posted a link to http://www.racematelive.com/ but it doesnt work in my country, anyway do not know if it covers all the future events.

    So what to do now?

Better to post it here than polute a race thread. I also hoped someone can help with the racematelive to get it working. I am not alone with this problam, am I?
There are far less informative threads, so what is the problem with this one?

It's a relevant concern and it keeps the issue out of the racing threads.

    Not gonna pay.
Before I just had my lap top on my coffee table and it was easy to follow race from TV and lap times from 17inch LT screen.
Should I now watch the race with telephone on my hand? How can I drink my race beer and eat my race pizza with telephone on my hand!!?
Those greedy made my sundays too difficult!

The link you posted works with a proxy from Asia it's a Fox Asia website. I used Hola Unlocker, but the times are at least half a minute behind the events, even more.

Yes, as usual, the greedy little rat...er, Sir Bernard, has gone for a quick buck. It used to be nice to be able to watch the trends of a race by watching and studying the lap and sector times. Now I have been lowered to the same level of intelligence as Steve Maddshitt.

Bernie is a money hungry little rat. I was going crazy yesterday, didn't know that this had happened to live timining, till hornet informed me (thanks again to hornet). The live timing is one of the things I enjoy most so even though on principle I shouldn't pay I think I won't be able to resist. We should fire off an email to the little gremlin

OK, let's suppose that you have to use your mobile phone for that. Which (free) app show sector times? The problem is that sector times are available to premium customers only. So, all free apps are using the same stupid dots!

Given how incomprehensible this race already is, it's ridiculous that this isn't free. I can't say the TV presentation is particularly compensating either.

http://www.racematelive.com/ apart from showing the data a bit late also stopped working for half of the race. Beside that it was good.

Has some one here tried to run the oficial F1 android app on the bluestacks emulator?

So far, as I see it, you can see sector times only in premium versions. Sorry, but it's a lot of money for me. :(

You may like to watch using FILT. It's pretty comprehensive with all the menus to follow your driver & watch head to head (FA & e.g. JB / NR etc.) I've used it often before & it works great, during the race today as well. It helps with lap times, positions, weather, written commentary. For 2014 they behaving as badly as renaults engine did in testing as some drivers are driving no car (Kimis' car must have had no registration plates fitted) and Fernando was driving a Force India (the jokes on them though for being silly). But as any Tifosi knows what car Fernando & Kimi drives what is a small glitch, if the program can at least give you current track positions, especially as to e.g. is Kimi leaving the pit in time before red bulls' puppies come chasing up the finish straight. A vocal commentary or tv feed are the only two things missing from it.
I've often had to rely on it for times when I can't make a televised quali session.
If you don't like it or it irritates you that Kimi is on foot instead of in a Ferrari and you can't wait for them to rectify it, don't download it. Different strokes ...
"What I don't quite understand is how Massa gets the lap times he does when he so often misses the apexes of the corners. What really does impress me is the fact that he displays a determination not to be counted out, or overlooked, when it comes to fighting for the world championship." Damon Hill.

download it and take a look. It used to be better until F1 administration decided not to show sector times for 2014. But it is way, graphicaly, better than one offical on formula1.com

I think the Sky website supplies a full interactive service during the race with (proper) live timing.

I can't even get the app because, as the site says, none of my devices are compatible. As I see it the app only works with iPhone, iPad or Android. That means my PC and Blackberry (a sponsor of Mercedes) are cut out, and I only have the new stripped down version.

BTW, the reviews at the Android site are awful.

livetiming@formula1.com may be able to help you if you are having a problem

This is waht you receive when you write on that email address:

Hello and thank you for your email.
While every email we receive will be reviewed, your query may take up to 3 business days for us to respond, unless we have answered your questions in the FAQ below. In this case, you may not receive a reply so please be sure to read everything. Note that if you have reported an issue, please provide full details about your hardware, operating system and specific details of the bug. Without the specified information, we cannot investigate.
Many thanks again for your feedback.

When will the App be available on other platforms?
The Official Formula 1® App is currently only available on iOS (6 and above) and Android (4 and above). We are looking at releasing on other platforms including Windows 8 and Blackberry 10. Please follow @F1TimingApp on Twitter or F1.com for updates

Why is the store saying that my device is incompatible?
Due to memory requirements, the Official F1® App is available on iOS (version 6 and above) and includes mobile Apple products barring original iPads, 3GS and non-retina display small handsets. It is also available on Android (OS 4 and above). If you have tried to download the app on the Google Play store and it tells you that your device is incompatible but based on the information above, you think it should be compatible, you may be in a geo-restricted zone. Please see below.

Why isn’t the App available in my country?
Due to tax laws and certain restrictions, the Official F1® has not yet been released in all countries. The App is currently available in the countries listed below and as we consider adding others, please stay tuned to @F1TimingApp on Twitter or F1.com to see if your country will be added. The Official F1® App is currently available in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Colombia, Country, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE, United Kingdom, United States, Venezuela.

If I buy the app, will it work on all my devices?
Across a single platform, your purchase will be transferred to other devices, providing they are compatible with the above minimum requirements. However, because the iOS and Android stores are not linked, your purchase cannot be transferred from one platform to another. This means that if you subscribe via the iOS store, your purchase will only be available from the same account on other iOS devices. Same for Android.

I want to report a bug.
Thank you for your help in making the Official F1® App better. When reporting a bug, we would need to know your Operating System, the platform you are using and the specific details of the bug that you have found. Without these details, our developers cannot recreate the issue you have found. As the season has only begun, we are constantly issuing updates and bug fixes through the App Stores so please look out for them.

How can I use the App in a non-live situation?
If you will be watching the Formula 1® sessions on delayed video feed, with the purchase of the in-app 2014 Premium Season Pass, you can download a race pack of any session that has passed from the Race Selector page accessible in the menu.

I was planning to move to Croatia, but now that's out of the question until FOM puts them on the list.
