You have to count in the lack of testing and the underperforming (by 10-20 km/h) Renault engine. With no issues, I think they are where they ended last year compared to others, but Merc (they have a terrific package).

I read in another place that Alonso has said to a Spanish TV that after the Kvyat-gate he had problems with the wheel alignment and it was very hard to turn right while he could turn left with one finger.

I did hope, yep. I know Newey is great and stuff, bet even he had his lows.

Can this be rectified without a penalty? What are the parc ferme rules?

    I don't see why not. It's suspension/steering arm damage.

But I am yet to see this reported somewhere else so treat it with caution for now.

He did have lows when he was at Mclaren but not in RB. Ever since he joined RB in 2009 he's come up only with good/great cars.

Well i guess we lose too much at turn 14 which needs the car to be on rails (like RB)

Good result, we seem decent in wet. Also if it's dry, our tire deg seemed good while Mercedes struggled. The race is wide open

It's a long time, but who says it could not happen again? He isn't a god and he (and his team) will make a mistake once.

Great job by the team, hope its dryer tomorrow and Kimi improves. Alonso great result given circumstances.

Does anyone know what time does race starts tomorrow after switching to summer time in the UK?
Autosport tends to mess up these things.
Meanwhile, it either says something or just nothing that Alonso, Schumacher and Raikkonen have reputedly spared a F1 podium on five occasions and Fernando has stood on the top step on every occasion. He's F1's first among equals. (PG)

Yes, you're right, it could happen again and at the start of every season I too hope that perhaps this year he won't design a good car, but unfortunately it hasn't happened yet. It would be best of course, if we could just beat him at his own game. Hopefully now that we have Allison and a working wind tunnel we can out-develop Newey's RB.

What's the rain got to do with it???? Every other driver/team is out in the same conditions whether it's wet or dry!

just saw the interview with alonso pretty amazing to get p4 with a broken front car thats how u loose the time he did in sec 3 should of had p3 may be p2 use to race rotex and shift karts and have had damaged steering before very unsettling feeling. i think we do want a dry race because the mercs eat there rear tires quicker than we do, and kimi seemed to loose to have a totally wet setup he might be gambling for tomorrow and looser boy is right starting p2 and p4 is the better side going into turn 1

Cheers! Just checked it, while autosport shows 08:00 as their start, F1.com is set at 09:00.

Glad Ferrari could fix the damage in time, impressive stuff. At least good enough to complete qualifying.

Bloody rookies. That kid went too deep in the braking zone and couldn't stop in time. What the hell was he doing staying so close under such condition

I still can't believe how fast Fernando got back out onto the track after his shunt with Kvyat. After I had seen a replay of that incident I was certain that this would be the end of quali for Fernando but then a couple of minutes later he was back on the track again...just incredible job by our mechanics, brilliant.

Yes i think we can,the car is much more basic than the Red Bull and the Mercedes and already showing good downforce levels,if we push on developing we can out develope them, the holy grail is resource management, not wasting money like in 2012 when Fry said we brought 18 underbodies(almost 1 per grand prix) and an huge amount of downgrades like last year btw.I think this is the part where Allison is gonna help so much. And i believe we are in dry setting because we aro not using the higher downforce rear wing from Australia.

Unlike a lot of people, I am quite satisfied.
All the negative sounds on these forums make me post a lot less, everything Ferrari does is treated in a negative way. Are we here to critisize or to support Ferrari?
Great effort by team and drivers. High five to Alonso's mechanics: they did a super job!
Hope we have a good race!

Only a question of time- though i'd say Mercedes is in an even better position. We need the team and the drivers step it up big time if we want to have hope for some race wins. I understand the frustration all around, but we really need to support our team more- i'm probably rightly accused of doom and gloom at times but even i find its getting a bit too much. Can we not just comment on the events taking place without screaming and ranting?
