Waited three weeks for this hoping we have closed the gap. Now hoping for the B-spec car rumors to come true

On a positive note, kimi seems to be getting into grips with the new car.

This is in fact the 1st time since 2010 that I'm losing hope. Simply because new rules and huge gap. Even Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso can't do much and frankly by the time this ditch is cleared.. others will run ahead. Drivers will grow old and I doubt the top guys would wana drive for us. Redbull and Mercedes offer better employment
4 down, 3 to go! Forza Sebastian!

i dont think we will get anywhere near 2nd in wcc, seeing what red bull did today...will be lucky to even keep ahead of williams...

    Everyone please take note...

No name calling, insulting team members, forum members, telling other people to shut up, there will be warnings and suspensions handed out to cool people down. As we having a not great start to another so so season, dont turn on each other.

Plus, no swearing, that goes for "street slang" swearing, abbreviating swearing.

    Thankyou MODs.

From my understanding, manufacturers will be allowed to make performance upgrade. It will not be a whole new power unit, but performance upgrades will be allowed. Of course Mercedes can make performance upgrades too, so.

I'm not sure what plans they have to ensure there's a level playing field between all engines. The final aim is to homologate the entire engine with no further changes in few years time, and I don't think they will want to homologate the engine with someone having an advantage

Yeh, that is why I used the word could.
But if it hurts your eyes too much you can change that for 3rd in WCC.

Kimi was quite a bit angry about the strategy for him and after the race he quizzes his engineer about "who is making the calls? We seem to get second choice." - Autosport Live

We could get anybody we want. Ferrari pays highest salaries and you get to drive FERRARI (road cars and F1 cars too hehe). And if it is terribly slow so what? When a rich dude buys a Ferrari do you think he's buying it for speed? Speed is rarely a factor for them.

Look at Vettel, he had the best car for years. He had decent salary as well yet he's desperate to drive for us. He said it last year or the year before, I forgot. Yes, I want our current pair to win titles but we don't have enough smart people in R&D department.

Ferrari's problem is not and has never been the pull rod. Well McLaren reverting back to the push rod hasn't done them much good aerodynamically either.

Beyond the obvious reason of being quicker.....watching us getting lapped was painful. So yeah.... at this point I don't mind them rolling out a b-spec car.

I appreciate why you say that but do you think that any of the bright young things of the future would have done any better than our two drivers today in the Ferrari?

Thing is, it’s bad enough not being able to beat the Mercs because they simply have a faster car.
Then there’s no surprise that the RBRs are ahead of us because they still have a better car, if not the best one.
But there was a Williams & Lotus in front for quali and the race result was the same except for Grosjean who was close behind both our drivers; it was simply the racing/ driving superiority of our drivers that enabled them to overtake him.
Mr Mattiacci has one hell of a job ahead of him just trying to take in what the big problems are, but then doing something about it is going to take more than one year and it’s here that I share your worry for our current drivers.

    Firstly
Vettel isn't desperate to drive for us

    Secondly
Mercedes and Redbull pay equally well. Drivers don't alone depend on pay cheques

    Thirdly
Driving a Ferrari on the road and one on the track that is lapped
    . Huge difference

It's dream to race for Ferrari, sure. But ultimately it's all about winning title. And you win't get that with Ferrari in these days. Comparing it to road cars is not really brilliant.

well they didnt really gain much from it...so they could have just gone and done it like the other teams...i mean they could atleast relate to how other cars r reacting to the tyres and track, right?

please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong

For those with more technical knowledge than myself, How much can we work on improving the engine? Or is it sealed all year? What can we do to an engine that is obviously being out done by having the equivalent of a double diffuser built into it as the mercedes is using the gases to get the horsepower.

Ferrari is a huge brand in Formula 1. But is not enough to win races.

Basically just the software updates. Or if we are clever and find something that could be fixed for "reliability issues" and on the same time it would gave us some performance.
