    Brawn,Newey and Bob?

Ferrari wants Brawn, Bell and Newey – Report

(GMM/Inautonews.com) Bob Bell could be the next piece of the puzzle, as Ferrari looks to end its slump and return to the top of formula one.
Already reported by multiple authoritative sources is that the fabled Maranello team is prepared to ‘break the bank’ and sign Red Bull’s Adrian Newey, who is already paid a rumoured $12 million per year.
“Ferrari badly want Adrian Newey,” a Ferrari source told the Guardian newspaper.
“I don’t know whether they have talked to him yet, but if not, they will.”
But Red Bull team boss Christian Horner said the 55-year-old is happy at Milton Keynes.
“He has made his feelings clear to me about the team,” Horner commented after the outbreak of the latest rumours.
“The speculation is purely that. You can understand why Ferrari would be looking.”
Newey, however, may not be Ferrari’s only target. Ross Brawn has already been linked with a return to Italy, and now the Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo claims Bob Bell is another possible recruit.
It was announced last month that Bell will be leaving his role as dominant Mercedes’ technical director, the German team saying he is seeking “new challenges” elsewhere.
“It is rumoured Brawn, Bell and Newey could bring order to Ferrari’s technical department,” said El Mundo Deportivo.
According to Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ferrari is also close to acknowledging that – given Mercedes’ utter dominance – “It is already time” to begin thinking about the 2015 season.
It is believed president Luca di Montezemolo had said Barcelona, Monaco and Montreal are key races before Ferrari must decide if focusing on the F14-T’s successor should be the main objective.
Also rumoured is that Ferrari’s turbo V6 engine project for 2015, codenamed 666, is currently more advanced than it normally would be at this time of year.
Yet another rumour is that Fernando Alonso has finally lost patience waiting for a title-winning Ferrari, and is now casting eyes at Mercedes.
Mercedes team chairman Niki Lauda, however, is quoted by Speed Week: “We have two top drivers already, both going for the win. So what would we do with Alonso?”

NO! It is mistake of one who has written article. Every Ferrari F1 car has it code name before getting a "real name". Those names are in format 6XX. Engine code names are in format 05X. Car for 2014 is project 665, which means that Ferrari Formula 1 car fior 2015 will be diabolus 666!
Let's hope it will really be so "evil" and reap the field next year!

Maybe Formula 1 could take a page from American baseball and negotiate a multi-player trade. Newey and Ricciardo from Red Bull to Ferrari for Alonso. Holy cow, would it be interesting to see Vettel deal with Alonso in the same car.

Surely the time will come when Newey isn't the main man, in fact he's not with Merc either and they have Aldo Costa who was with Ferrari.....collecting Brawn/Bell sounds like a positive move but it doesn't guarantee anything. Maybe we should focus on 2015, but I doubt that either of our drivers will be with us.

On the other hand, if all those gentlemans arrive at Ferrari, and they finally make beast of a car, than any one will drive it to the WDC and CWC!

I wonder what project 666 is. I am willing to bet that the devil is in the details.

Just to annoy you, stefa, maybe we could get Felipe back and that beast of a car will deliver him what he deserved in 2008. But you're right, we'll always have the best drivers until their patience is exhausted, and I don't blame Fernando if he's had enough.

After what happened this season, the only way it can be different is if it's a success

I won't be annoyed at all! If they produce, as I said beast of a car, they can give it to any one to drive. Yes it could be some kind of heaven justice for FM to get what he deserved back in 2008.

Noticed on autos port forum, that apparently some conflict between pat fry and Allison re front pullrod. Allison wants it gone, pat is being difficult re this. I think since pat has been with our team we have been nowhere,so don't have much positive to say about him. It's almost as if it's a personal insult to him to get rid of it. Anyway brawn, bell would be great additions even without newey.

Maybe Pat Fry is the modern day Nigel Stepney.

Yea, it would be absolutely amazing if we managed to get all three guys onboard, but I'd be very happy even if we could just get one of them at least. *fingers crossed*

Does this all come down to bad management from the top??? Like you have mentioned we had Aldo Costa where we had success in winning a Championship with Kimi and close with Massa the following year and i believe you don’t become a bad designer overnight so what happened? I think he had his hands tied and could not do what needed to be done, he goes to Merc shows his true potential again because he may have the freedom to explore the limits and shines. We get James Allison a fantastic designer/engineer comes to Ferrari and produces another failure for the team so could it be that our people have to go through so much red tape to get done that it just becomes to controlled and difficult to work outside the box and explore the limits? Technical Departments need to be left to be innovative and fresh and not bogged down with red tape!!!

I truely hoped that the engine era was going to be ours and we have even failed in that department!!!

Still keeping the faith that we will bounce back and shine again!!!

Wolff gives Brawn credit for Mercedes' dominance

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has revealed he is trying to lure departed chief Ross Brawn back into the team's F1 garage. Brawn, 59, stepped down at the end of last year but, during his first year of retirement, he has already been linked with a return to Ferrari, having even visited the fabled Italian team's base recently.

Wolff has now told the Telegraph that Briton Brawn can take some of the credit for Mercedes' current dominance of F1, insisting he still would have a valuable contribution to make. Austrian Wolff said it was Brawn who "realised" what Mercedes needed to do in order to succeed in the wake of Mercedes' 2010 takeover. "Ross Brawn realised in 2012 that it was not getting any better -– he started to recruit and to add some of the people to the organisation in key areas," he said.

Wolff also hailed Brawn's input in other key areas. "If there is a heated situation on a race weekend, I am trying to imagine what Ross would have done. If needed, I give him a call, but I can well see us missing Ross's calmness and experience in the heat of races, or in the heat of the championship. Ross has a considerable part in the success of this year. It's a big shame he's not here," said Wolff.

"I'm speaking with Ross regularly, and we are trying to get him to one of the next races to have a look at the team. He was so important in building the base, and setting in place some of the structures, and we would like him to be part of the team and see what's happening this year. He's going to come eventually -- he's promised to," Wolff added. (GMM)

Yep, he is frightened that brawn will take the intellectual knowledge of their car to Ferrari.
