Alonso might go out on slicks at the end of the session according to the Dutch commentator.

BBC Radio 5 live pit lane reporter Jennie Gow says that Kimi Raikkonen had a gearbox issue where was stuck in third gear. It's a gearbox used for practice, though, so he won't have to take a grid penalty for the change.

Fortunately it was a practice gearbox, not the race gearbox, so at least there will be no 5 place grid penalty for Kimi.

That was like a free for all qualifying

Alonso just love these tricky conditions.

Great job by FErnando, is always a job to watch him in Monaco. Too bad about Kimi, at least he lost very few laps of trainning.

These are the moments when it gets proved again that no one compares to Alonso atleast in the current grid.Yes Vettel and Hamilton may get single lap pace when needed but Alonso is the real deal.
Just mesmerizing to watch him hustle the car with such accuracy.

    Alonso is the BEST .
Wish Ferrari could produce something that does justice to his talent.

Got a bit too excited as if we just wont the race but still seeing Ferrari at top of sheets is nowdays rare,so savouring it

Kimi will be there with Alonso in qualifying ,Alonso's lap wasn't so good if you compare it with Merc and Red Bull, just the weather during free practice 2 made it look good! Just my two cents!

If we only could get that car to perform..........both Fernando and Kimi deserve to show what they really can do.

I think everyone realize that under normal condition, Merc is still ahead and they will probably still win this race on Sunday. This is certainly no indication of what qualifying will be, and we're not dreaming of P1 on Saturday.

It's just that when you have these conditions where your car's technical advantage becomes less important, a driver's skill takes over and it's always nice to see our own driver still have that advantage over everyone else, it's a nice consolation to an otherwise miserable season. And it is important to have a driver that shines during odd and difficult situations because you don't get to chose the weather. Whatever weather it is, rain or shine, a driver needs to be able to excel and not blame the weather for being too hot or too cold.
