And it is important to have a driver that shines during odd and difficult situations because you don't get to chose the weather. Whatever weather it is, rain or shine, a driver needs to be able to excel and not blame the weather for being too hot or too cold.
Yeah right,it was just the people amazed at how Alonso pushes a car to the max.
    doubt F14 T has improved.

Top in FP2 is a great achievement from Fernando, would be nice to think we could capitalise come Sunday but at least we're up there. Kimi having Felipe's bad luck syndrome, what is it about the team that someone always has to suffer this misfortune. Better than expected day performance-wise, though, keep it coming.

Just mesmerizing to watch him hustle the car with such accuracy.

    Alonso is the BEST .
Wish Ferrari could produce something that does justice to his talent.

Got a bit too excited as if we just wont the race but still seeing Ferrari at top of sheets is nowdays rare,so savouring it
If Ferrari build ALO a really good car, the combination will make VET/ Red Bull look pedestrian!

You're right. FP2 times were more about who was on what tire as the track was drying. It will be difficult to beat Merc, but RBR, Macca, Williams and Ferrari may get close. It will comedown to mechanical grip and who can put together a perfect lap.

IIRC, Martin Brundle said something like the rear is trying to step out, but more importantly Alonso is carrying more speed through the corner.

I think we have a solid car, just need better power delivery that doesn't upset the car when accelerating out of corners. Will be interesting to see if we can improve the PU in Canada, and what improvement to the car that might bring.

It's all about controlling the torque that the car producing.

He said "good" speed. After that he said that Mercedes carried about 10km/s more than everyone else. Let's not get too excited.

Yep, as I said in a previous post, I'm not thinking about a win for Ferrari this weekend, of course Merc is faster. My point is there are good stuff about our car and it's not a total disaster. The car may have more potential if we can improve the PU in Canada.

Ofcourse the Mercs are ahead of the pack, but it would be real satisfaction if we beat atleast 1 red bull in quali.
And Currently the no.2 driver of RBR seems to be vettel.
P4 would be amazing if we get it

If ALO can get onto Row 1 or 2, anything is possible.. Traffic, drop of rain, safety cars.. and the best driver in F1, or course!

Let's not get carried away by FA's free practice..........in Monaco to get on the first rows, you need superb traction and high cornerspeed. We don't have that, and although as some say we have the best driver, he is not a magician.
In order to qualify on the first or second row we need more than Fernando (or Kimi) can give. Only the wether can help him because that can be the big equalizer.

RBR is definitly quicker than us, and I don't think we can count out the Williams and even Grosjean, the lotus isn't that slow if it's working. Romain has done some good qualyfying here in the past

exactly my thoughts; we are NOT strong enough to even challenge the red bulls, let along the Merc's

if one of our cars can get on 3rd row, meaning P5 or P6...i'll be happy

then we have to wait if the well talked about package for Canada will work and may beat the bulls and be MUCH, MUCH closer to the Merc's

heck, it better work teh well talked about package....because i'll be there rooting for BOTH of our drivers...

Certainly Fernando's lap in FP2 isn't really representative of our car's performance relative to Merc and RB or even Williams/Lotus/Macca, but it's good for morale and boy do we need it. But it did look a handful and a shame that Kimi couldn't get a time for comparison with Nando, then we'll have had a clearer picture of where we stand for this race.

If we could somehow get both cars into top 6 in quali then I'd be satisfied. I hope we could do even better than that, but I know it's going to be difficult.

This is what Mattiacci said to Finnish MTV3. " Mattiacci on MTV3 about problems in Kimis car:" Yes there is constantly more problems in Kimis car. Maybe we should start to take a look who is taking care of his car."

I guess Kimis part of the garage is pretty much the same that Felipe had.

You're right. Everything more is a bonus.
I wouldn't be very surprised though if Fernando puts the car in the wall though in qualy, because he will try to get more than 100% out of it to qualify as high as possible.

No way that's gonna happen. I can't even remember when was the last time Fernando crashed out because of his own driving mistake... and I'm pretty sure he ain't about to do that tomorrow in quali either.

Yup. I don't expect him to to it ofcourse, but if it happened it would not knock me out of my chair either. He knows he has to start the race up high if he wants to have adecent result. In Monaco that means taking risks during Qualy.

Based on FP1: behind Merc by .659 means Ferrari and Alonso will finish 51+ seconds behind Merc on Sunday.
Based on FP2: ahead by .419 means Ferrari and Alonso will win the race by 32+ seconds.
    Let's see what FP3 brings.

I guess that's another excuse, you disrespect Kimi's mechanics, do you think they are "trash" and they don't know how to build the car or check if the gearbox is broken?. Ferrari exchanged some mechanics last year from both garages for the sake of equality, and Massa's car was alwys solid.
