    Are options allowed in FP2. ;)
    Alonso gets so much out of with a car which is so twitchy,wonder how it will be nice and planted
    Maybe good old Alo in Ferrari vs Ham in a Merc.

    According to BBC Fernando is driving with a new floor, Kimi will be driving with it this afternoon, hope it will be dry

    Nothing new, we already several races were on P1 in FP1. It will be good if we can match RB this race

    Aero paint on Kimi's rear wing, and Alonso's sidepod floor

    I believe that's better quality.

    It's not the first time we've lead a FP session this year so let's wait until Q :)

    I don' think this is completely representative, I assume that Fernando did a "qualy" lap, because in the afternoon Kimi will get the new floor according to BBC.. I'm not sure, but I think that explains thing perhaps?

    It wasn't a "qualy" lap, he did actually three consecutive flying lap and the last one is fastest.

    Its not qualy lap i think. Alonso set the best time on his 14th lap that tyres. Car still struggling at turn exit, but not that much if i compare to monaco or spain.

    What I meant was that he did a faster run, with less fuel compared to others.. And yeah, we haven't seen that, have we? That drivers are building up speed in qualy, so their real fast laps isn't their first? Do you really think we are faster than Merc than??

    True, but when HAM was going purple in S1 and S2 and messed up in S3 he didn't win that much on Fernando, but he was pushing, so that would mean we are very close. I'm not pessimistic but it's unreal that we would have made up 1s, or even more, ergo, we were perhaps a bit lighter fueled.. trying a bit more to find pure speed, because floor is changing so Fer can't do that in P2.. that was just what i was thinking

    I didn't say anything like "we are faster than Merc" or some. I just saying these lap times wasn't a qualifying sim.

    Yes he messed up in sector 3 but let me tell you that how fast that purple sector were :

    S1 => ALO : 21.569 - S2 => ALO : 25.060
    S1 => HAM : 21.511 - S2 => HAM : 24.982

    So yes we're not faster than Mercedes but i think we are pretty close to them.. Anyway we will see all cards in Q3...

    We run all the time with low fuel on friday, but being first and so far from other Mercedes engine teams and RB, probably is a sign that some updates worked. Let's wait and see, it will be a dream if we are the second best team here, we have to be realistic.

    Whatever it was, FA was in P1. He can't do better than that, so we just have to wait how the car holds up in the next sessions.

    Yeah they probably hiding that gear for Monza and maybe Spa. After that races they may change gear ratio for better acceleration.

    Alonso with new sidepods and engine cover. The sidepods exhaust now goes further aft and includes the rear suspension.
