as long as we don't go backwards like we frequently do from Friday to Saturday, a podium may be possible.

It is, but our deficit should not surprise you. Disappoint you, yes, but not surprise you.

that's exactly my point of view for this year...it's not a surprise the Merc's are from another planet this year, they have worked really hard and as an engine manufacturer they have the BEST package aero/engine wise

the BEST can hope for this year is come fight for 2nd, but even that is really hard from the looks of it

so yeah, all US fans are pretty dissapointed as to how this year has been unfolding for us

let's all hope taht James Allison and CO. are working really hard to turn it around for NEXT YEAR, and let's hope taht in 2015 we'll start being the TOP DOG, like it used to be pre 2009 and all this Mercedes hype will be over with....

Hopefully this time we'll break the trend by looking good on Friday, looking better on Saturday and even more better on Sunday.

Don't count them out too early ...
I'm pretty sure that they will put it together over night ... You'll see ...

Watching a repetition of todays day ... on Sky Germany ... and for each race they ask a driver to present his favorite song which will be played at the end of each broadcast of the weekend ... this weekend it is Bottas and his song: The Offspring - The Kids aren't alright ... ... This song is from 1998 *sigh* time flies so damn fast (and he's born 1989 , I don't think I've listen to that kind of music when I was 9).

Kimi just kept going round and round on a set of thoroughly trashed SS tires. Look at those things. I assume he was seeing how long they last and how they degrade.

So we have seen the long engine cover, monkey seat and monkey lip, wide and narrow side pod flow conditioners, single and double strut rear wings, new rear brake ducts, blown and non-blown front wheel nuts, six element front wing, and the all important titanium spark makers. Have I missed anything?

    Any word on PU updates?

Free Parctice projections for Sundays race. (So far)
FP1 behind pole by .311 secs which equates to finishing Sunday 22+ seconds after the winner takes the flag.
FP2 behind pole by .928 secs which equates to finishing Sunday 65+ seconds after the winner takes the flag.
    FP3 ???
    QUALY ???
What to expect: 5th place starting grid position Sunday.

Missed both FP's but it has happened in the past that we look great on Fridays and get a rude shock on Sunday.
Better we not conclude anything from timing sheets of Friday.
Hopefully it's a better result than Canada where we were miles behind even that squabbling pack.

    Cheers

On this picture you can see (and imagine) the difference between the actual track layout and the "original one" back until the mid 80ies.

    Difference Oe-Ring - RedBull Ring

    and a picture

Kimi is so slow... Could be that he's running with similar fuel loads to others while Alonso is on fumes... Still I am so glad that F1 is back to my 4th favorite circuit (after Monza. Spa and San Marino).

Also is this site experiencing some problems? Crashes frequently and takes forever to load sometimes.

I really hope it's true that Williams destroys the rear tyres in the race...

So updates seem to work, pace is relatively ok, but we are again struggling with tyre warm up. Williams is the opposit so probably they will outqualify us, but, they will probably have more tyre deg during race, but because of top speed it will be hard to overtake them... I hope that we will nail strategy and not screw it up again...
