Disastrous, disappointing and devastating another fabulous fifth place finish. Its official Ferrari has joined the mid-field pack. Best quote of the race Vettel: “do you want me to waddled around here like a duck?” when told to SAVE fuel. How low can this sport get now? Don’t race, save fuel!

In the end, he would not overtake Vettel anyway, so the lost time did not matter.

Well considering the car he has under him that was massively well done by him.

Kimi has reached the point where he can be replaced by literally anyone. It shouldn't be too hard to find a guy who doesn't score points and finishes 25-40 seconds behind his teammate

Grats to Rosberg for his Germany win

Saw some comment about Alonso pitting late, I think we had to as we saw towards the end, Riccardo was attacking Alonso again. Had Alonso took that super soft a few laps earlier, Ric would have had him. On the flip side, soft (and pit earlier) may not have been enough to pass Ric, so I think this was still the best decision, wait out for the super soft window.

The F14 T does not posses the rear traction to properly do that

Yes,apparently starting 12 vs 7th and getting hit twice during the race are clearly irrelevant factors to that...
Last time we had this discussion about replaceable Kimi during 2009 when Fisichela came to us after the marvelous 2nd place from Spa GP .
Well all know how that ended, with him barely getting 15th place during races.

Well, because its Ferrari, you never know.

Btw what a duel between Nando and Ricciardo, great perfromance by both of them, Nando maybe underestimated Ricciardo but in the end the better driver won :)
    Good job by Nando.
Kimi with another crappy race, he gotta improve or leave F1, its been enough.

    FerrariF60,
I appreciate your optimism but Ferrari has not shown any evidence of producing a winning car in the past five years, what gives you hope that 2015 will be any different?

Well people bashing Kimi ,but what about the team, the designers?(When on earth will they build a proper car?)
If u take Alonso out of the equation (he is super human)
and you put anyone in our car which slips and slides almost out of every corner i am sure neither DR,VB,NH may prove any better than Kimi (At max a few points more)
My point is we better build a good car and then bash the drivers if they didn't perform.

He was on newer and softer (faster) tyre. He just did not expect Ricciardo to do counterattacks so he did not defend enough.
Anyway beside that he had great race and finished better than what was to expect.

No, his car even on newer fresher softer tyres was barely a match for the RB of Ricciardo out of the corners. He could have been a tool and crashed into him, but luckily Alonso is not a tool.

Gave him enough space and respect and still manage to finished in front of him. Great job Fernando....great job.

Very good job by both drivers, Fernando is just Fernando, he is always awesome, 83% of the team points, sweet jesus. Kimi also very good, for a driver already in summer vacation, that's an impressive performance, I hope he enjoys the caipirinha.

The anti Alonso pro Kimi butthurt is amazing.

10-0 Alonso. He clinched the teammate battle behind summer break. Pathetic.
    Forza Ferrari!!

    German GP 2014 Race thread

Those who are saying Alonso was called in late for the final pit stop, I think team did call him just at the right time. The way he was struggling on his final laps of SS, he would have been eaten alive even by Button had he pitted 2-3 laps earlier. Hats off to the team & Alonso

And whose fault do you propose it is that he's starting 12th? And 9-0 in races speaks volume. Yes, yes you can bring up races like Monaco and possibly Malaysia (although he was behind) but Kimi has never outpaced Alonso so far, in 9 races. The majority of the races he finishes 20s+ behind and has what? 1/5 of Fernando's point?

And I was just joking. Replacing Kimi now makes as much sense as to pull all my money a non-Mercedes driver to win the WDC. The biggest problem is obviously with the engineers but we cannot ignore how incredibly poor Kimi has been. Just like Massa - if Fernando is driving his heart out (is that an expression) and is getting 5th or 6th obviously the car is not up to scratch. But when Felipe is finishing 11th or 12th in the same car it is quite obvious that he's not close enough to his teammate. Simple really.

ferrari did NOT have the pace to challange the Red Fools today...it was only Fernando's SUPER human abilities that is masking the true DONKEY performance of teh F14T look good, when in reality the Ferrari is nowhere this year

as we've seen that he only fended off Ricciardo in the end by the "skin of my teeth"
    Forza Ferrari SEMPRE!!!
