I do not think that is a good result. Just a normal, standard level one. There have been plenty of such qualifying result for the last few seasons.
It seems the degradation of engines and decrease of their power through their life is now affecting Renault more than other manufactures, if you look at RBR. They should have performed well with their great aerodynamics at one of their favourite tracks which was quite the opposite. Even the wet setup should not make such difference as others probably went more or less that way too.
Interesting to see JEV only 0.2s off Vettel's time in Q2.
It is not that RBR is not strong here... I heard on SKY that they were on wet setup for tomorrow's race, as a certain rain has been predicted for tomorrow's race.
RB is def on a wet setup, mabey extreme wet. Its a gamble but what
have they to lose?..
Yes but I think the susp is set softer for wet conditions. May not be extreme.
It could also mean a little bit higher ride height, which causes less downforce in dry but better driveability at the track with standing watter.
Hope it stays wet for the race. Don't think we've had a wet race all year have we? I know that we've had a few wet qualifying sessions but not for the race.
