The official statement only mention Bianchi, so no marshal is involve or they would mention it too.

IMO, given the bad weather conditions, the race should have been stopped before such terrible incidents taking place

Ted just said that the decision was a choice to not use the helicopter, as the helicopter did fly after the ambulance left. We don't know why yet, but it's possible that the hospital do not have a landing pad.

It appears Bianchi's car skidded into the tractor that was removing Sutil's car. Because the ride height of the tractors are so high, and F1 cars are so low, its possible that his helmet made direct contact. In a way quite similar to what happened to the female test driver for Marussia. However even under wet conditions and a caution, 130R is still very high speed. A very very worrying situation.

dont think it was 130R, think it was top of the Dunlop Curve.

Apparently Jules slid under the recovery crane. And is badly smashed. Nico said it is too serious and critical. Sutil expresses same fears.

The images that remain of the car gives me the chills

    Lord be with him.

for the sake of jules himself, his family and the formula 1 fans i hope this is an inaccurate account of what happened

A MedEvac helicopter manned by a doctor, two paramedics and a pilot is ready to fly at all times, a second helicopter is kept ready outside the circuit and four additional ambulances are posted around the race track. If conditions are such that a helicopter could not take off from the circuit or land at the hospital, due to fog for example, then the race cannot go ahead

So why was this race was allowed to start?

My mistake, you are probably right. Even so, that is still a fast corner.

we dont need to start hearing knee jerk over reactions like this. freak accidents can happen sometimes. the rain was not really the issue. just really bad timing.
