Nothing surprising at all. They're still ahead of us, we all know that, the most important question is how close we can get to them by Sunday. Hopefully very close.

Hamilton's sector times are even more daunting. 0.3 in S1, 0.4 in S2 faster than Nico.

We certainly aren't pushing remember we are around 9 tenths behind Mercs in Australia. Let the merc show their pace so that we can really see what they can do

Those times means nothing. We did 1.39:7 in fp1 last year, we can't be just 8 tenths slower than last year right ? :)

So.. what kind of conclusion we can take about new fuel meter? Us? Mercs? or none of them? Hopefully we can still be in front of the rest with a good margin to be comfortable.

1.5 seconds down on Luise's time?? we surely MUST have a lotta fuel in our tanks, OR this is the same good pace the merc's have always had, with the exception of Malaysia when they were COOKING their tires

oh well, let's hope our race pace will be much better

You get a gut feeling straight away. My gut feeling is I hope Ferrari can get within 1 second on a hot lap.

It seems that seb is pushing to the limits of the track. Hopefully we have the tank with heavy load

As I doubt Merc are particularly low on fuel I don't know what to think of the 1.5 second gap.

No way Sauber are within 3 tenths of Ferrari. Looking at McLarens times everyone has more to give. Mercedes are trying to stamp their authority early? They want to dominate all sessions. McLaren are around 3 seconds off which is now their level but all thee others are further from the top.

Just calm down guys this is Fp1. Merc said they are going to boost updates alot so its general they will get lot more quicker than they are in last 2 races. We are still with the same front wing and some tidying work done at rear with some big upgrades on the wings to join.

Unfortunately those worried looks in the garage at Seb's last lap time are probably telling where we are. It appears we're clear 2nd though.

Them Mercs might be ahead in pace, but our pocket ace is the tires. Let's not forget that we're at a tire eating circuit, which should gives us a big tactical advantage even more so than in Malaysia.

It's gonna be decided on race day, NOT in FP1.

Sauber in P5 says a hello which suggests that we are not pushing hard and Vettel did that time on end of session but with used tires suggesting that we still have some grip after the running which might be useful for Race.

Relax guys, we're only at practice remember? What matter is the race itself, as long as we get 1 or better yet, 2 drivers at the podium then it's mission accomplished!

We have used a lot of tyres for this FP1, looks like we have some degrading issues.
