So still finished 1-2 in this FP session even with all these problems we had. Very good!

Hopefully these engine problems are now fixed and won't come back.

This couldn't be the true potential of our car, maybe they are nursing the engine but, .7 in front of McLaren an .2 only for Williams it's weird. Last qualy we were 2 seconds faster than Alonso..

This weekend its all about Fp2 than Fp1. You can see how much other cars are in the mix. As the temps cool down the cars will behave differently. Also teams are looking for less running to save mileage.

Yeah, also they maybe hadn't enough time with the failure to get the correct setup for seb. I hope that the glitch have been definitely addressed and repair.

    Updates are probably mechanical related...

    Are we using second engine?
first there were rumors, that was denied, now again I read that we are already using second engine...

So Both Seb and Kimi have changed ICE on PU. We were rumoured to be bringing an updated PU. Do people anticipate that this is related to that or due to a problem?

In the begining of the season we said we were going to use on "older" PU because of reliability in the first races, and that the newer PU would be used from Barcelona.
So or we have troubles and need to use and extra old one now, or we introduced the newer PU earlier
I hope for the second option...

Not a good news I think. Unless the new engine is updated one.

I don't see any benefits in intentionally changing the PU early just to introduce updates. Doing so will only require later PU to do more mileage, which may affect reliability and that far outweighs any potential benefits from the upgrades

Depends on how close teams are on agreement of 5th engine this season ofcourse...

Nothing too bad either. We can use the old ICE on tracks where power isn't that important, like Monaco and Hungary.

Unless the ICE is found to be more reliable than they originally thought.
Bad thing would be if the engine was changed because the old one didn't last long enough and if the updated engine was not ready yet.

Hi there first post on this amazing Forum.
Only ICE has been change perhaps Barcelona update might be on MGU- H MGU -K or Turbo as they can mix match the components within the PU.

F1today suggests we discovered cracks in the PU so we used PU #2 already. Mercedes still on PU #1, they should use #2 in Spanish GP

The second PU is identical spec to PU#1. I asked Tobias Grüner of AMuS that question via twitter. He confirmed no upgrade tokens used for PU#2. Apparently Ferrari found cracks in the engine blocks of PU#1. I don't think they had planned on changing PU yet, they were forced to by the cracks.

    Welcome to the forum

Well I'm going to be Captain Obvious here, but I'm really hoping we bring something special for Barcelona (and looking forward to a fast and reliable race weekend in Bahrain lol)...

I think we won't be bringing anything meaningful in PU updates in Barcelona, except if its not update of turbocharger/mguh and not ICE. Anyway, if there are cracks on engine block thats bad. But if they are bringing updates later then expected I guess that means PU is better then expected and updates can wait. I would rather that we don't rush through the engine upgrades...Would love Merc to spend all their tokens and put a benchmark so Ferrari can deliver in 2nd half of the season. I think bigger gains are to be made on chassis side anyway...

    Start could have been worse
of course the times are not that relevant due to the heat difference between now and then but anyway ... start could have been worse ...

Hope Kimi could save this 2tenth for once into qualifying too ... I would appreciate

    Greetings From Seattle ...
