On the other hand, Alan Jones being there as a steward is worrying me.
He was bad on Seb when Webber was the teammate. Now, maybe with Dan beating Seb he is calm down!!
If Seb is thinking the slow manor is having problems, he has to pass it! So maybe Jones knows this too, he was driver!

I dont know about you guys, but I am starting to feel that Mercedes is cheating the system.
They are the ones who wrote the rules, they cheated with testing in Season with a 1 year old car, they helped to write the engine rules.
Formula one is not how it used to be. I am loosing faith in the F1 organization, they are not what it used to be. One team dominating for two season without any other car being able to close within .5 of a second. Maybe its time to stop watching F1 altogether.
Ferrari is trying its best to be competitive, but Mercedes is just playing cat and mouse. RIDICULOUS. Sorry Bernie, F1 and CVC, you guys are making me loose interest in F1.

They did a massivly good job on there 2014 effort. The problem is that with these rules it's very hard to catch up, you can't change a lot, and the changes on the engine this year are only because of a glitch in the rules. Aso concerning the engine, we need to chase performance, but if we loose reliability we don't gain something. They can now spend there time fine tuning everything.
Also, these rules don't create a close pack so there is not much of a treat to them...

The document isn't showing on the FIA site yet, but all of the journalists are reporting it.

Mercedes was working on these engines for over 4 years! They knew the rules changes. Remember in Brawn days, Ross Brawn help write the diffuser rules, and they had a double decker diffuser the next season. Just dont like that cheating. Massive job was done done in 1 year, their engine was designed few years back, and that is why Mercedes threatened to quit F1 if they change the engine sizes. So, they stuck with it and now look, Mercedes is dominating. Its no coincidence.

I reckon Ferrari ought to start Seb from the pitlane. Completely change the car and set it up for a full race specification. It worked for him in Abu Dhabi 2012.

If Vettel get a penalty, they should just get a new engine as well! So, drop another 10 places? Come on Ferrari, get another engine!

On the plus side, he should escape any first lap incidents.

Perhaps we could start on SS, pit very soon, go on the softs and have clean are and just do our own race.. I mean starting completly at the back.. You can overtake here but he will loose so much time to the top 5/6.. There's also a chance for a safety car.. Better to try something different I guess..

Don't make a difference from 16 or 20 position to start for the race and yes less chance the cars in the back are hitting him.

That's really harsh. I remember Button got a three grid penalty for the exactly same offence in Austin '13.

Ah, well. I guess it's one of those weekends. In a way I'd be mad far more if he managed to get P2 or P3 then got dropped P7-P8.

Well. Looks like Vettel is gonna start from downtown Montreal with Verstappen alongside him.

    Disappointing; 2009 to 2016...

To make matters worse, as he can't serve the full 5 place grid drop, he will need to serve 5 seconds in the pits or an additional 5 seconds after the race. I think that is how it works. But it appears even the FIA might be struggling to work this out.

Off-topic though, someone give a hug to Maurizio.

(I'm caring about the score only because of him! )

Now we see everything! Losers in the FIA can't even figure the positions! It is not important with Seb. If he is P16 - P20 it is same.
We will seem him cutting the field like Abu Dhabi!

Others have penalties and there's being 1st takes presidence. So a 5 place penalty may mean dropping 2 places or something like that.

Oh well start on softs then last 15 laps on super softs with others on old softs will make an interesting race.

now we see the video, Vettel was stupid to do that. What was he thinking. Absent minded. He knew what was going on.

Am I the only one who believes Kimi can do very well tomorrow? His race simulation on Friday showed really a great pace.

Kimi can do well, but he is so far off the championship, Vettel is the only one who can fight for it. But if he keeps making stupid mistakes like that, then he wont win!

    18) Verstappen +10 second penalty (has only served 8 places of the grid drop)

    19) Vettel (all 5 places served as Max took his penalty first)

    20) Button +10 second penalty

I think that is how it should work.
