Yeah agree, he is definitely a great guy. And brings great atmosphere wherever he is at. He is good for developing the car and plus he is solid on the track. Not very aggressive and a bit to calculative for my taste, but still i respect him a lot as a driver. And truly i would love for him to come to Ferrari. But i think he will like to retire in his biggest national team. And his retirement day is coming soon...in 2, 3 years the most i guess.

Ferrari should take tiny risk and let Kimi go and take Verstappen, I think he is a future star, Bottas, Ricciardo, Hulkenberg, nothing special, just average drivers, me thinks.

It's way too early for Verstappen in my eyes! He made a really stupid mistake yesterday!

No way Max. Way to young, maybe doing a Perez at Sauber couple years ago. Just lucking in to good strategy and other peoples mishaps.

Bottas, had ok race yesterday, not consistent enough. Hulk, if he doesnt stay in F1, then lets get him. Dani Ricc? maybe. But to be honest we have couple good reserve drivers who could do good job. Plus, whats point of having reserves if when times come, we dont promote them to #2 race seat.

Problem with that is that Massa would not accept.

And has anyone noticed , that throughout his career, Kimi has always been on wet tracks. Spa 2008 comes to mind ...

True that. I thought it was impossible to be honest.
I also thought it was impossible for Schumi to come back, especially in an other team. But look what happened.
I wouldn't be surprised now what ever happens, even if we get Barrichello back

Although I would love to see Massa back (a favorite of mine), Ferrari needs new blood. Bottas or Hulkenberg seem to be the only choices if Kimi retires.
Verstappen is no way ready (Perez was more ready in 2012) and Ferrari knows bringing Ricciardo with Vettel wouldn't be good for Vettel. Perez isn't as good as the Hulk so there's no chance they'd choose Perez over him. Sainz isn't as spectacular as BOT or HUL.
Tbh, if Hulkenberg isn't getting the seat, then keep Kimi or bring back Massa. I don't see the fire in Bottas.

Actually, I was told that such a rumour - Ferrari interested in Grosjean - was on BBC recently. Careful what you wish for.

There will not be a shortage of drivers. A fast car, however, is harder to come by. I think that development should come first and foremost while we sort our way back to the top.

On topic: he can stay but he needs to take a pay cut.

I'm sure he would be semi pleased to hear that.

I'm actually not against him (coming back or) staying, but I have thought from the onset that Ferrari spent too much for his services.

If not for anything else, a pay cut would be a good show of his intent to help the team get back to winning. But on the business side of things; one expects a tangible return on one's investment, does one not?

Of course. And he wouldn't even want to continue if he wouldn't believe that he and the team can deliver next year.

And what comes to his salary. Maybe some kind of "piecework pay" solution, like he had at Lotus.
That seemed to work quite well, even better than Lotus were prepared of..

Agree with you and Leo Turrini who writes in his blog that Ferrari should have signed Kimi after Bahrain and should have
    concentrated on improving the car.

    The blog is here:
    http://blog.quotidiano.net/turrini/2...vabene-e-kimi/

Anyone able to translate the last sentence in the Blog into proper English ?

E il pallino sta in mano a Marchionne, certe manovre uno come me le fiuta da chilometri di distanza.
Nulla accade per caso, quando la furbizia da cortile prevale sull'intelligenza.

    Google translation:
And the ball is in the hands of Marchionne, certain maneuvers someone like me the smells from kilometers away.
Nothing happens by chance, when the cunning farmyard prevails over intelligence.

Good old Leo. As if the people who decide on driver's contract are the same who design the car.

Ferrari can do both at the same time! How shocking.

It doesn't quite look like that. It appears that Ferrari has fallen behind Williams now.

Perhaps it's due to the pull-rod front suspension ? The rumor has it that next year there will be push-rod instead

Edit: Kimi would likely be happy with that

If we are to replace Raikonnen before the end of the season, I'd really like to see JEV behind the wheel. I always thought he was underrated. After all he has a contact with Ferrari.

Who is that Raikonnen you are talking about ?

We have Kimi Räikkönen driving a Ferrari. You can spell his last name Raikkonen if you don't find the ä or ö in your keyboard,
    but not Raikonnen.
