Renewal of Ricciardo with Redbull (until 2018, 10 million € per season) approached Carlos Sainz to Ferrari with the agreement of Santander (that thay would go away).

They didn't get criticism because of the degrading tyres... They get itbecause those tyres did explode. They should be able to make higly degrading tyres which are safe to use, or they should leave F1. What Pirelli is not capable to do is to make the tyre structure strong. As soon, as the rubber is gone, it just disintegrates, while it is quite easy (based on what Bridgestone was doing and what Michelin was saying) to make it structurally strong even when all the rubber is gone and you are just running on the carcass.

On the contrary, drivers have consistently criticised the fact they are not able to push consistently on Pirellis. They still can't which is very frustrating. The only exception being Sergio Perez perhaps for obvious reasons. I expect drivers this weekend at Le Mans to be pushing harder for longer than the F1 race which is just wrong.

As for the race, I look forward to see how we screw it up. We didn't learn from Australia and proceeded to it up in Spain and Canada. I just hope no one has any bright ideas about how we should run this race.

It will be interesting to see how much progress has been made on traction and mechanical grip in general.

Ferrari will use 1 token for the ICE in Silverstone. Also, they will continue the development of the chassis until the season end: They are stil targeting the title. While Mercedes will stop to bring big aero upgrades after Silverstone as they believe that Ferrari (and Red Bull) are having an advantage in the development for next years cars thanks to their junior teams.

While we don't have the best chassis in F1, I don't think it's quite as bad as some people are making it out to be. Look at where Sauber are with the same engine as us. That's a bad chassis.

This is true. However, Ferrari needs to step up their chassis if they want to have a shot at winning a race. Power doesn't appear to be the problem.

Getting on pole is Ferrari's problem. After that Seb can due what he did @ RB, win. HP and the right tyre choices seem to be whats need most.

Well, with Vettel's start at Canada it was as good as being on pole.

We are still like 0.3 - 0.5 sec behind Mercedes. That is still too much in Formula 1.

Not true.. Had Ferrari not pitted early in Canada, they would have won the race. Lewis was not gaining on Seb, he was losing time to him, even with Seb braking for the birds..

At the beginning of the stint when Seb had brand new tires, yes. However the laptime difference gradually came down and pretty much vanished with 15 laps to go.

With 2 laps to go, Lewis did 1.15.981 on tires that have done 44 laps. The best Seb could do was 1.16.297 on the final lap when his tires that have done 32 laps. This still shows the significant advantage Merc has over us.

You cant compare this lap times. Seb did rgis mistake in the end and it was over,so tou dont know if that was the his true pace in that last laps!!!

The wing is mostly the same but it has smaller flaps for lower drag. The rear wing is als o a low drag version. According to AMuS Ferrari has new bodywork at the rear. Teams have brought lower donwforce packages than what we saw in Canada as the circuit has very long full throtle sections

It was clear that Lewis had enough pace left to control the gap.. We were very close to Merc, but they still were ahead. Personally I think Lewis is faster then ROS around Canada, so maybe our pace would have been faster than ROS..

Now let's not forget, if we can fight them we can push them, that's what we need.. ROS had issues in the race.. It seems everytime a Merc is in traffic and needs to push, problems with brakes etc come up.. Also Felipe retired because of overheating engine..

Was surprised at how Di Resta said that straight out: how the Mercedes doesn't like not being in front, in clean air. I mean there are our observations but Paul would know with greater certainty. Looks to be a weakness they currently have.

That's a weakness of every car that has an excellent aero, it works marvelous when on clean air but under dirty air all the numerous vortex stop working so well and thy lose a lot of downforce.

Significant advantage in chassis and tire managment, not power.

its in german...Aparently Pirelli started with live-measuring of tyre pressure (started in Monaco) and made it clear that some teams do have different pressures at the different times...
as solution: they will try to measure pressure before teams put the tyres on the car...

Once the heat from the rims and tires dissipate the pressure reduces well below the Pirelli recommendations. That's why some teams have suddenly huge advantage in qualifying especially Q3.

Surely Pirellis tyre pressure recommendations are for safety reasons also and so if teams are operating outside these limitations there is a safety concern here and then the FIA have to act?

But the fia isnt acting, so Im sure Ferrari knows of this.
If it is for safety, and the above mentioned teams are doing it,
we havent seen any nasty things hapning because of it.
Id try it then, if they know how. merc, tr, rb and fi dont appear to be having any safety issues.

Something that came to me now... Couldn't this be the thing, that Mercedes is doing since the secet tyre test? Being it the reason, why suddenly they were able to work better with tyres then anybody else since then? And only now it came to surface as other teams figured out how to do that as well? Just a thought.
