James Allison to leave the Scuderia!

The axe, according to today's Gazzetta dello Sport, will fall on James Allison, the ex Ferrari, ex Lotus Technical Director who was in charge of Maranello's much touted comeback. Sergio Marchionne, incredibly, has asked to be informed of every technical and strategic decision of the team so he may intervene personally (what could possibly got wrong?).

mate, we NEVER had a chance this year....and he's gone for next year, well it's NOT gonna be a surprise if we're gonna struggle again in 2017...unless we somehow lure Newey to Ferrari, which we ALL know it's NOT gonna happen, not in this life time

probably...but hey, you better watch your criticism towards Ferrari especially on this forum, as we all know the mods here (a.k.a Greig and others) don't take that very well!!!!

if you're a TRUE ferrari fan, you should take the BAD and gloomy days just as good as the glory days we had in the past...otherwise....well you;'ll get a slap on the wrist....just saying

I think we are cursed, we had a guy that could truly help us win and develop a car and he had the tragedy of losing his wife at the beginning fo the season, it was guaranteed to fail since his mind wasnt on this at all.
Im not even sure who is there left that is talented and proven for Ferrari. Is Brawn even remotely interested?

James Key from torro rosso....that car is pretty decent with the budget they have and also the 2015 engine that is NOT even allowed to be upgraded and developed

Ferrari would not dump him...his children live in the UK, he has to do what is best for them.
I think he will be headed back to live with them mabey b4 end of season.
We shouldve seen this coming actually.

Wait I don't understand, did he get fired or is he leaving on his own? After what just happened to his wife and his family, I think it would be in poor taste to fire him to be completely honest :(

lol. Marchionne can't possibly know how to design a car.
    This doesn't make much sense

He has not left yet and until a possible confirmation comes from either Mr Allison or Ferrari everything in the media regarding this matter is just speculation.

    This!!!
If Ferrari are to fire every other guy without giving time for the results to deliver, nobody would want to come to Ferrari.

Well I think if this is true, it has something with his passed away wife and children in UK. If I remember his children are from 8 to 12-13 years, so basicly not old enough to leave with one parrent who is bassiclly 2000km away in Italy.

We all know james he loves ferrari, been before in the past.

So nothing with poor Ferrari just simple family issues.

Remeber how he was happy last year after win in Malaysia. This man is very good and very proud memeber of Ferrari.

Honestly much more worse is Jock Clear, strtegy guy who ruined our tactis this year, last year Ferrari was excelent in those conditions...so Marchione....
    Ferrari = 235 victories + 219 pole positions + 248 fastest laps = constructors championships 16

If true, bad news in my books. One of the signs that next season will be just mediocre. They do not promote some Italian from inside the team to his position, do they... Aldo Costa return?
One of James' main goals was to change Ferrari's short term focus to more long term thinking. Maybe it did not materialize.

I think its more about JA's own family issues ,then the bad results at Ferrari. And Brawn IF he has something to do in the team,it will be just consulting . We are more aiming for James Key and there are 2 problems in that. 1st he has a contract with RBR (but this we can find a solution) and 2nd(and most importantly)is rhe gardening leave.
If we go for JK (and JA leave) then probably we woll just promote Simone Resta.

Only solution is to promote italians inside the team, and it's a good solution not in short time but for after because we can't be all the time depend on british members good will.

Promoting from inside is a possibility as long as there are ones that have the talent needed. But the minute when nationality becomes more important than ability then the dry season that follows will be a long one.

Pages on Facebook are saying Allison is leaving and that SF is trying to get Brawn.

I'm tempted to say that at this stage Ferrari will be better off by promoting from within the ranks than hiring outsiders. I'm pretty sure there's sufficient raw talent to bring the Scuderia to its winning days. Good luck, James!
