Very nice article which is speculating that the drivers can control the level of grip allowing the tyres to last longer and work in a larger temp window.

Silently, like a shadow
What does a larger temp window actually mean? Get the tires up to temperature faster?
I wrote it also in sf70's thread.
This particular switch, we had last year too.
But then we had inside the copkit on the left of the driver.
This year ,we just moved it on the steering wheel. Its
not new.

FERRARI FOR EVER !!!!!!!
Could it be a setting for the grip levels of the track at any particular time? For engine mapping purposes? 1= low grip from track, 10= lots of grip. Maybe??
Like you i once was
Like me you will be.
For years it seems all these talent were buried inside Ferrari, from day one of testing i said Ferrari produced a good car and so far i have not been wrong, whatever happens this years these guys should be given whatever they need. Who needs the like of Adrian and James Alison
Not quite sure how a dial can adjust the grip of the tyres?
Forza Ferrari
hypothetical suggestion: "GRIP" is for rear wing settings....heavy downforce in the rear for more grip OR suspension settings having to do with front and rear.
there is a seperate dial with "FW" which stands for "front wing"
Pretty sure moveable aero via a switch is banned though?
Forza Ferrari
What if it's just for the clutch bite point at the start of the race? I know it doesn't exactly make much sense to have a big on the wheel for the whole race, but have we seen our drivers change any of those setting during a race? Or... since they moved that "Grip" dial to the wheel, did anything replace it down there on the inside of the car?
you are tru , there is video from 2013 with alonso explaining all the buttons and he said about grip button that is for start procedure somethng.
mistery solved.
it is very interesting that i last couple months media have mistery tips on ferrari
first was floor
second was movable parts of floor
now this...
Ferrari = 235 victories + 219 pole positions + 248 fastest laps = constructors championships 16
