Binotto tried his best to downplay it, but if Ferrari is indeed bringing a new floor at Germany, then it's a major upgrade. Let's hope it will work as intended and we will not be hearing about correlation problems.

Ferrari hopefully can have a positive backed to the season laying down positive momentum for next year.3rd or fourth finish this year would be a huge effort considering all aspects of the year 2020 one that will not be forgotten easily.

Not sure if used in Russia, but Ferrari has redesigned boomerang support to the floor and sidepod vanes
FERRARI FOR EVER !!!!!!!
New bargeboards and sidepod vanes. There is a new floor as well.
These bargeboard areas have gotten crazy. Wind tunnel must prove all that stuff helps but simple minds like mine sees a bunch of drag inducing bits and pieces. Maybe they should remove all that and see how the car behaves.
Binotto: "The 2021 engine has been running well on the bench for months"
The Ferrari team principal explained that the developments introduced on the SF1000 at the Eifel are to complete the package seen in Sochi, pending other news at the bottom that will be seen in Portimao. These are evolutions that will also be useful in 2021 when a new power unit will debut about which it says a lot of good.
What can we expect from Ferrari at the Nurburgring? In Germany, can the Reds aspire to something more than the seventh place conquered by Charles Leclerc in the Russian GP?
The Cavallino team continues the development of the SF1000 that began in Sochi with the adoption of new turning vanes and a revision of the cape under the nose, while at the Eifel it brought several barge boards and small changes to the front of the bottom.
"We have some news to complete the package - explained the team principal, Mattia Binotto - and we will have more in two weeks (we are talking about the speaker ed), they are all refinements of the current project aimed at finding confirmation on the road to be taken for 2021 ".
Binotto wanted to underline that the "purge" linked to the less powerful power unit of the Circus will be overcome in the 2021 championship ...
“Next year we will have a completely new engine that has been running on the bench for months providing good feedback. And then the new regulations at the aerodynamic level will force everyone to practically redo the cars as regards the rear area. These are all aspects on which we must work to make up ground in the next season ”.
The head of the GeS did not want to load the wait with too much optimism, he adds that “… closing the gap from Mercedes will be practically impossible, but the goal is to be much more competitive than we are at the moment”.

It's not how start but how you finish.
It will be awesome if we get back fighting with Redbull at least next year! #ForzaFerrari
Charles is ignoring Binotto !! He's already doing too good .
When Micheal Schumacher was at merc they were going no where fast. Then with the fia mercedes orchestrated and manipulated the hybrid era.Firstly mercedes built there army well in advance equipped there army well in advance and then declared a war to all that slept a snipper attack so to sleep.Without doubt all other teams have been disadvantaged .I would love to see lewis in another car say Redhill to be fair.I would bet water to biscuits that he would not have 91 race wins Buckley's chance. He owes it all to mercedes and there hybrid tactics.
Now Simone Resta says Ferrari will work on the read end of the car because that's where the performance lies. Finally realized that they can longer afford to make dogs year after year. A better engine with a 2017 esque car should be enough for title. Binotto had earlier said the same that they need to make a car like the 2017 one.
"I've always believed that you should never, ever give up and you should always keep fighting even when there's only a slightest chance." - Michael Schumacher
"If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari" - Gilles Villeneuve
Byrne never designed the 2017 car. Resta was the chief designer and Binotto was the technical director, Byrne has always been on-off adviser. Byrne worked on 2014 and 2017 car as an adviser, and the former car was an absolute disaster and the latter was an absolute star.
In next year the FIA is clamping down on the floor area to trim downforce. What Resta said is quite simple, they see the rear of the car as the most promising area to develop. They are not saying that they are going to design another SF70.
The SF70's main strength was slow-medium speed corners, but it suffered a bit on high speed track. It dominated Monaco, Hungary, Singapore qualifying, tracks where average speed is quite low, but suffered on high speed tracks like Silverstone and Suzuka. Also the SF70 was very good at switching the tyres, so on race speed it actually had a advantage over the Merc throughout the year. The 2018 car was an all rounder, it was equally good in high and low speed tracks. If the Singapore upgrades actually worked as intended, then Ferrari would've leapfrogged Mercedes.
It looks like Byrne is brought in for consultation when their are rule changes, like 2014, 2017 and now in 2021-22. It's not a bad idea to have him on board. Was the 2014 chassis a disaster or was it just the engine that was a dog?
The numb nuts at ferrari f1 division are fianally starting to understand the concept of what is required to move foward with an f1 car that can challenge boy oh boy they certainly have testa dura.
Ferrari will introduce a few "small" aero modifications in Portimao, mainly to the diffuser area. It will complete the development cycle that was started in Russia.
Still NO news / photos about our upgrades ??!!
FERRARI FOR EVER !!!!!!!
Here's one of the floor. Ferrari "cut" the floor.

And the diffuser!!!

The thing is that ,they say that this upgrades are under next year rules and that with that type of changes are aimed for a 10% less downforce.
So ok for next year and good for them that they trying them from now,but how is this gonna give more performance to this car ???!!!!!
FERRARI FOR EVER !!!!!!!
Well said , I will never give up on Ferrari moving up from where they are. Charles is as good as any other on the track with what he has to drive with. " No down force, too much down force!! " As far as F-1 the racing sport itself, if your a young fan ; you will eventually see these records broken. Who knows? If Ferrari gets it right it may very well be Charles up on top
There's a new diffuser for this next race. I do have high expectations. Enjoying the next two races a week apart is great for F-1 fans . Or is that trolling?
