Clearly in hindsight agreeing to an engine freeze has pretty much destroyed any chance we might of had to win a championship in the next couple of years.

On the flip side i don't think we realised the full extent of how far behind we might be. I think back to Austin and there was some parity in straight line speeds where as before we had the advantage, but i don't see how we've seemingly gone further back from that. I guess we'll never know.

If Ferrari believed their engine was on par with Merc then there is clear logic in the decision, sadly they got it wrong and also hampered by Covid. Ferrari did not know they had the worst engine when they agreed to the freeze.

By the time Ferrari get there act together f1 could well not exist.Ferrari came close to mercedes and were the only true challengers.Red bull can pack up there toys this year also they are basically picking up where Ferrari left off all of red bulls hype Dr Death Horner and co have been served with a mercedes swift backhander bringing them crashing to earth.Ask your self who can stop the mercedes juggernaut.?Tv audiences have fallen of the cliff f1 is no longer the glam that it was it is purely fighting for survival.The organisations and the people behind this toxic set up know who they are and what they have done to this once great sport.

What is the logic not to build better and faster engine in a racing car? I thought they want to go faster and faster.
And how many years Mercs has been top of the mountain, and Ferrari did not know that. Ferrari thought that we are faster than Mercs, so Ferrari can stop developing engine, really.

Ferrari knew how much their engine makes, Ferrari knew what they had to undo to get away from the controversy. They knew how much it costs in terms of HP and lap time. To assume that this is somehow a surprise to them is admitting that the engine department are a bunch of imbeciles. I don’t think they are.

They also knew how much lap time that HP would cost them and they still agreed.

To pretend like this is a surprise to Ferrari is dumb.

That was determined at the time the incident took place during the race as the stewards stated no further investigation warranted...the steward is just explaining their view on that. There was no risk of a post-race penalty.

What bothers me much is that we showed everybody that we have a hyper engine from another planet just to win 4-5 races. We were not fighting for the championship anyway.
And this creates the idea that everything was legal with nothing to worry about. Like we were growing for this year championship.
But...
-We demonstrate this power without winning notthing when we could have hided it and use it for this year championship. They didn't have to show that hyper top speed, indeed they could have gone for fast corner speed, or exit corner speed.
- if you dont have a plan B better dont catch the eyes of everybody.
- in the end we lost or second position (now we are fifth car no the grid) just to demonstrate our power last year and lossing our face too
