It's not how start but how you finish.
Harder to pass here than at Spa, so as long as we're in Q3 we should be good for points. Power is arguably more important there than here, just look at last year for reference and also remember how Vettel won in 2011 and 2013 with a below-power car with a dominant chassis. So long as the car is working on the brakes and is tolerable in Parabolica it should be better than last time. Q3 is hard but I don't think it's impossible to accomplish here.

The reason btw for me saying power means less than Spa is the sheer length of the straights there. It's 2 km to Les Combes through Eau Rouge and 1.8 km-ish past Blanchimont. That means there's plenty of time to roll right past ya if the car ain't fast enough. The longest Monza straight is about 1.2 km and in turn is entered through a high speed corner, resulting in acceleration being less important on that spot. The other three straights are more like thereabouts with the main straight of a standard track. That means you need to have a corner speed advantage to actually attack at Monza.
Merc still had plenty in the bag, they're not even remotely phased. Looking at practice times so far it looks like the rest of the field has bunched up a bit and possibly RB have dropped back. Bit too early to say really. We'll maybe have a slightly better picture in P2.
I was following live timing, hard to gather a lot of info but the longer stint pace looked reasonable low 1:25s on the mediums.

It just looks very bad for us. I reckon we'd be much better in Mugello, Portimao, Nurburgring and Imola, maybe Silverstone tier.

Question, I read something on a Dutch site.......: Binotto said: "Next years car will be an evolution of this years car, but we have chances. At this moment we are testing a brand new engine for 2021 and we are counting on that one".
And I thought: ????????? Is that true? Is that allowed? And then I thought: you are not allowed to change much on this years engine for next year, but what about a completely new one? Is that a loophole? It could be, and it would then be created by McLaren who are changing to Mercedes engines next year.
Now, what does everyone think.....could this be true?

The car is very special this weekend.

Do not expect anything .
Bahrain 1 and Abu Dhabi should also be alright tracks for us, due to the high track temps and the twisty hairpin sections being on those tracks. Especially in Bahrain I think the likes of Renault and the Copypaste will suffer on race pace because of the combination of temps and traction. In Bahrain 2 we'll be better than Spa due to the frequent braking and lack of an individual monster straight. Istanbul will be very weather dependent instead. Late season warm spell there and we have a chance at a good result due to excessive graining through Turn 8 for the others.
Maybe party mode ban hurt us
