He tunes up his car more to quali pace than race pace, so he can get better track position, like I said earlier, he is a clever young man, he knows how difficult it is to overtake, and he knows that our car is slow, so this is the only way to have a chance to get close to the top, if he just can keep his position in race.

Nice job by Perez too, beating Max is not easy.

That’s the reason I said if not bottas worse performance. He would have landed into P6.
And we all know leclerc will pull something extra in Q3. So for me ferrari still lacks the performance from last year.

Perez should send a sombrero and a 6 pack of Dos Equis beer to Lawrence Stroll every race. No hard feelings.
It's not how start but how you finish.

The only thing Leclerc needs to do tomorrow is to have at least an okayish start and not get into any incidents on lap 1. P4 would practically be guaranteed.

It's not that far, I mean we're 0.3 secs from pole on a power track and 0.5 s on an even more power-dependent track in Bahrain.

Judging by S2 I think Charles can fight for pole on some twisty tracks this year.

Only a pathetic troll will get upset with today's P4 and will still find ways to undermine Ferrari's progress this year. Ferrari have done an extraordinary job with the chassis and engine. Only 3 tenths behind a Merc and 2 tenths behind behind Red Bull. Solid job from the team yet again,

Might be... we shall see. But I don’t keep my hopes on as other teams will not sit or make easy for us.

Well, it's really hard to overtake here. P4 is very much possible again. We just need a good start. One can only hope for Verstappen getting struck by the Italian disasters he has.

no its not, it was the opposite.

yesterday team ran spoon rear wing, today the revert it to high DF wing. thats why our car was missing the speed in sector 1. i think front row was reachable by using spoon rear wing.

they are preparing for race with possibility of rain

Lando tuned his car for quali, that's why he annilhilated everyone through sector 1. Us to yes with Lec but not to the same extent as Lando. Riccardo is an accomplished driver and he isn't naturally that much slower.

Interesting race tmrw. RB-Honda to watch out for.

Ham vs 2RB cars. Letís see how Mercs reacts.

Bottas worst performance is an advantage for Honda RB.

They have the car this season to take at least either of the title WCC or WDC. If they donít win then itís a golden opportunity miss for them.

Coming to overtaking, it will come down to tyre performance & race pace. I donít think we have that good race pace to keep other behind. That gives the opportunity for other during pit stop or some other way to pass leclerc.

I am not sure if I should get amused or angry by the reaction of certain people that cannot or won't be happy by the progress of the team.
People that want to call themselves tifosi should be happy by what happened today.
We're close to P1 (even if we're P4, but 1st to 10th was less than 1 second), something that given our sad state last year, was unthinkable.

I hope team will keep doing what they do, and hopefully they will replicate the diffuser Mclaren created as this is one thing that according to
experts can be done without any specific issues. We -could- make best of the rest (ie. behind Red Bull and Mercedes) which given last year
is a great win, in preparation for 2022!

Leclerc is on another level. I think most of us don't expect much from Sainz to be up there with Leclerc. Sainz is doing way better than what Vettel did IMO.

Apart from the typo I made with Leclerc's lap time (it's 1:14.740 instead of 1:14.470) everything is fine, and real.

Leclerc-Ferrari was one of the fastest combo in sector 2 and 3, we gave away time in the first sector but made time in the second and last sector. Also Ferrari have ditched the spoon RW and have gone for high DF RW, so they have lost some speed because of it.

He was only 0.3 seconds off Leclerc. Not bad at all, especially considering Leclerc is one of the fastest, if not the fastest driver on current grid when it comes to qualifying/raw pace. It's just that the top 5 is very closely packed so even a tiny error would mean a disaster.
