I know, i know,... rumours. Nothing to learn before presentations and testing, even teams ignore what others are doing and they haven't data to refer to. Presentations will tell some about concepts, test maybe about strengh and weakness, but numbers will come with qualif only. As usual. How many speculations are we going to read?
Also, i wouldn,t be surprised if no one team adopted FIA's car nose

Günther Steiner on the 2022 Ferrari PU: "Ferrari have done a lot of work on the ICE as well [not just the hybrid system]. I was with Gene Haas in Maranello before Monza and they showed us what they have done. How good it is always difficult to say."
Steiner: "Even if their engine is good and the other engines are super good, they are still behind so I think they put the right amount of effort in to make a better engine and next year they have to be equal to all the other engines out there or hopefully even better."

How is Ferrari's "brave" 2022 project going?
The rule changes planned for 2021 were quite large. The increasingly complex aerodynamics of F1 vehicles caused the vehicles to produce excessively polluted air, and therefore the vehicles could not follow each other closely.
The aim of F1 with the new rules was to reduce the production of polluted air. Sidepod and bargeboard parts consisting of front, rear wings and a series of fins, which are the biggest sources of downforce generation of existing vehicles; they were seen as the culprits in the increased production of polluted air.
That's why F1 planned to generate downforce using the bottoms of the cars rather than the wings. In the new vehicles, the wings were simplified and the bargeboards were removed. Thus, complex wing designs that increase polluted air production for downforce would not be as relied upon as before.
With the new rule changes, Ferrari, which aims for the championship and the pressure of the championship on it, has started its preparations and in January 2020, the file number 672 was opened in Maranello. This file was for the Italian team's 2021 vehicle.
But then, as we all know, the pandemic affected the whole world and F1 had to stop like many international organizations.
Teams could not go to their factories for months, and due to the effects of the pandemic, it was decided to postpone the rule changes planned for 2021 to 2022.
When returning to the factories left empty due to the pandemic, the file number 672, which was created for the vehicle that was planned to be designed for the new rules, was shelved and a new name was determined for the project of the 2022 vehicle: 674.
Now there are only a few months until the start of the 2022 season, and the Italian team seems to have come a long way on project 674.
Ferrari decides on aerodynamics concept for 2022 car
In addition to reducing the polluted air produced by vehicles, another aim of the 2022 rules is to create a closer grid by reducing the differences between the teams. That's why the rules are very restricted by the FIA. As a result of this, the areas where engineers can use their imagination and creativity will be reduced. Speaking on the subject in the past months, Toto Wolff thought that the biggest difference between the vehicles would be the color schemes.
Although the vehicles will be close to each other, there will be "micro areas" where engineers can make a difference, and according to the Italian press, the area where the biggest difference can be made in 2022 vehicles will be the front of the vehicles.
Speaking to Italian Formu1a.Uno, a source said the following about the front of the 2022 Ferrari car: "The front of the car is now formed and [the front of the car] will be very different from what we saw at Silverstone [from the car showcased by Liberty Media before the weekend]. "
"As for the designs, I can say the following: The chassis and suspension designs are complete. These are always relative things, but we are satisfied with the data from the simulator. At slow speeds, an interesting problem with the curbs was to evaluate the approach to the curbs."
According to the latest change in technical regulations, the minimum weight of 2022 vehicles will be 792 kilograms. So the vehicles will be 40 kg heavier.
Vehicles will be as close to the ground as possible. Since the beam wings on the rear wing rotate, it is thought that the slopes of the vehicles will not be as high as before.
Vehicles will also be heavier. Therefore, it is possible to say that they will be a little more cumbersome compared to existing vehicles. In fast corners this can be positive, but as mentioned in the above statement, it can cause problems or different approaches in slow corners.
Next season, the tires will also grow and switch to 18-inch tires. However, teams are more prepared for what to expect from the new tyres, after testing with Pirelli's new tyres.
Will Ferrari be able to design a championship-winning car?
Aiming to rise to the top with the new rules, Ferrari has invested heavily in this workspace to return Gestione Sportiva to a top-tier team that can fight for the world championship. Because competitiveness in F1 is not only measured by the car, but also by the internal structure of the team.
One of these major investments in the study area was the new DMG (Dynisma Motion Generator) simulator. Correlation studies of this state-of-the-art simulator were completed in September. 2021 of Ferrari drivers.
It is thought that he started to drive 2 vehicles in the new simulator.
In addition to this new DMG simulator, special systems have also been made for the new hypercar to be produced for use in Le Mans.
In addition, there is now a better working environment within the team. While the pressure of working at Ferrari has not gone away, according to the Italian press, the pointing culture of wanting to find a culprit when something goes wrong no longer exists in Maranello.
From a technical point of view, it is possible to say that changes have been made again. According to rumors, design experts were brought to Maranello and these experts were working effectively on the details; they were able to set more goals for each department.
Team boss Mattia Binotto did not come to Turkey in the past weeks and stayed at the factory. Binotto will not participate in "at least 2 more races" for the remainder of the season. Binotto attaches great importance to this project and continues to follow the project closely by staying at the factory.
This year's car, the SF21, is also a good sign for the Italian team. Despite the token system, the 2021 vehicle, which has undergone many changes in a short time, is more efficient and faster. The nose part of the vehicle has been made much more efficient in terms of aerodynamics, without spending any coins on this area.
The tokens were spent on the rear of the vehicle and the vibrations created by the gearbox were cut off, resulting in a stronger rear. The rear suspension design was also changed without spending any coins, and with a different design created with the same suspension arms as last year, better performance was achieved.
All these developments show that the Italian team is able to identify the problems in the car and produce solutions that work well on the track.
Although everything looks positive for Ferrari, no one knows yet, including the engineers at Maranello, whether Ferrari's 674 project will be competitive enough to win the championship.
Talking about the development of the 2022 car recently, Charles Leclerc emphasized that it is still too early and said, "The development process is progressing well, but it is difficult to say anything before comparing our car to other teams on the track." said.
Some sources close to the team say that Ferrari, which has invested heavily in this project and wants the championship, has designed a brave vehicle.
Will this brave vehicle be the champion? Time will tell that.
    Via Motorsport.

A left or right front tire kiss from the driver next to our Ferrari during the race can very well ruin all that was put into the car with a DNF. Charles and Carlos are what counts as far as getting our new developed cars on the podium more than anything else. Max spent years coming up by trowing kisses to now getting kissed !

Ferrari: the new simulator will debut in one of the last GPs
Mattia Binotto, team principal of the Scuderia, explained that the calibration and fine-tuning of the new Dynisma simulator has reached the final stage, so the team intends to use this innovative tool to prepare for one of the upcoming end-of-season Grand Prix. It is a sign that the plant is ready to begin development work for the 2022 single-seater.
Ferrari has secured the role of third force in the world championship by snatching it from McLaren in evident decline in the last few races. With the fifth place of Charles Leclerc and the sixth of Carlos Sainz the Scuderia has opened an increasingly important gap with the Woking team, bringing the advantage to 31.5 points in the Constructors' classification.

The Cavallino team, in addition to seeking a correct relocation in the F1 hierarchies after the bad fall of last year (ended the world championship of teams in sixth place), dedicates a lot of attention to preparing for next year's season, when the single-seaters will enter into action. ground effect.
A silent revolution in the adaptation of the factory is being completed in Maranello: the Gestione Sportiva has undergone an important expansion to equip the team with the most modern facilities useful for building a competitive single-seater again.

There is a lot of anticipation for the new Dynisma DGM simulator to come into operation at full capacity in the new glass building that was built between the GeS and the Fiorano track.

The DMG (Dynisma Motion Generator) simulator offers maximum bandwidth with minimum latency by integrating software to hardware, removing any possible obstacles between the pilot and data acquisition. This new tool, therefore, represents a strategic resource of the Cavallino which in 2022 will aim for victory again.
The gestation of the Dynisma simulator was strongly influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially as Ferrari did not limit itself to copying the excellence of Mercedes and Red Bull, because Mattia Binotto wanted to go beyond simulators that move like a sled on tracks, taking a different, certainly more sophisticated path that has the ambition of becoming the new state of the art.

It is therefore not surprising that the "spider", as we have defined it in comparison with the Moog solution in use for years, has had a longer development phase than expected. But the good news is that the fine-tuning and calibration work has almost been completed, so it's ready to go into… action.

"We are commissioning the simulator - said Mattia Binotto -, that is to say that we are completing the development, after having made a comparison of data with the old one".

“Our intention is to use it officially between now and the end of the season to prepare for a GP, so that it can be fully homologated and ready for next season”.

The 672, design code of the 2022 single-seater, was born on the old simulator (Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have been driving this virtual car since the beginning of the year), but development work will be done on the new one.

Binotto promises the Tifosi: "We are working tirelessly on the power unit for 2022. Already at the start of the season, many components will be new. Then we have to see how we proceed until September."
AMuS The V6 engine has to be adapted to E10 fuel. At the same time, Ferrari wants to close the gap to engine leader Mercedes. Ferrari wants the achieve that at the very latest when the engines are frozen.
AMuS There are two deadlines for this: engine, turbo and MGU-H have to be homologated by 1 March. In addition, fuel and engine oil. MGU-K, battery and power electronics have until 1 September.

From Marca, on 2022 car : "Here, I think Ferrari seems to have started before anyone else and they have a luxury, that of undercutting the normal Ferrari pressure in any season," Alpine F1 chassis chief Pat Fry said

From discussions between drivers, it emerges that the cars of 2022 will now be faster than those of 2021, or at least will have picked up some speed in slow corners. Probably due to a different front end than the one seen on the fia car. Pure aerodynamic loading could make an unexpected comeback, explaining why drivers said it will still be difficult to overtake. Nothing offical, just my anderstanding for now

Binotto said many times over that 2021 went totally to making 2022 car and team the come back year for Ferrari. I truly believe we have the drivers. They deserve to finally have the car to be with the rest of the top drivers fighting for the WDC, WCC.

Another thing to look at is, Ferrari was possibly the fastest car around Monaco and sector 3 in Spain. And in recent races, where we would expect to suit us the same way, such as the stadium section in Mexico have not. So Merc and Redbull definitely improved, wasting effort, while Ferrari is focusing on 2022. So the gap that we see to Mercedes and Red Bull is exagerrated.

it is hard to believe, with all the development and testing restrictions, that red bull and mercedes can develop this car, AND make next year's just as competitive.

Leads me to believe that if Ferrari gets the engine right, they should be VERY competitive and winning races.

Regarding Mercedes and Red bull, i'm sure they can face this challenge : Newey still the best engeneer and Mercedes, ...everybody knows

I am trying to keep feet on the ground.
However one has to be blind if they don't see the signs.
Pits are working much, much better than last year, even making back to back pit stops.
Blunders in strategy, are way less frequent.
Unless something catastrophic happens, we're third, something that we could not even think of when the season started. And while at a point this was at the cards but was supposed to be a derby of sorts, it is not, not really.
And it seems that the team is going to produce not just a fast 2022 car, but at least a podium winning car ; my gutt tells me that we might be gunning for a title. As long as we keep the momentum.

Everything will depend on how the team will handle the pressure that comes from anticipation. Hello, management.

    Let's see.

Found a fascinating link and was thinking Ferrari need to hire these guys to work on their simulator...

Having this type of capability would bring parity to the aerodynamics race in F1...

According to today‘s issue of Corriere Della Sera, journalist Giorgio Terruzzi writes that Jean Todt could return to Ferrari as a super-consultant [similar role as Niki Lauda had at Mercedes]. According to Corriere, there were already several talks between Todt & Elkann. "Jean Todt could return to Ferrari
in 2022. His mandate as president of the FIA expires on Dec 17, he expressed an unexpected idea to Elkann: to return to Ferrari. The two have talked about it several times in recent months after a first contact at Le Mans this August""The hypothesis is that Jean Todt plays the role of super-consultant able to increase the political-sporting weight, lightening the commitment of the president & supporting in this sense also Binotto, with whom he maintained an excellent relationship."
[..] "In short, the idea of returning to Ferrari is understandable and even plausible. We will see if it will be a mutual convenience, also because the name Todt is heavy [past of Ferrari / present FIA]."

John Todt played a key role into the success of Ferrari, plus it can't hurt to have an "inside man" who might have some pull with the FIA.

Will believe when if it actually happens. A lot was said about Ross Brawn, Rory Barne coming to Ferrari. Nothing materialised.
