And aren't they only allowed 3 ICE units for the whole season? We may well start nearer the mid-field/back at Spa anyway, but that's no guarantee of avoiding any melee at the start! A gamble whichever way you look at it, and not the driver's fault.
Both Horner and Binotto floating the idea that those at fault should contribute to repair costs of others. Given the laughable 'budget cap' (death knell of F1) this is a serious matter. No way the teams and maFIA will ever agree but if a huge chunk of your CAPPED budget has to be spent on repairs caused by disciples of Onan such as BOT and STR something is definitely rotten in the state of Denmark!

For me the most important element is the engine. Why should the Victims of a crash take 10 places penalty?

I'm sure the data gathered will be straight off to Mercedes so they can input their desired specs...

Well yes. AMF1 claimed a faulty fuel pump. FIA said tough cookies. However, the appeal against the penalty is a separate and ongoing matter.

No they have been refused the right to review it, so unless they take it further then the penalty will stand.

AMF1 is taking it further, hence why the appeal against the penalty is a separate and ongoing matter.

Ya. I think this is a dead end for AM. FIA has given them a hard no.

They said they would consider their position, but as they have no new evidence that's the end of it really. As it stands they have no appeal it's been denied.

Huge implications in the championship should it come down to 3 points at the end of the year.

Ham now leads Verstappen 195-187 instead of 192-186. Mercedes leads RB 303-291 instead of 300-290. May seem insignificant, but every point counts in this tight season.

At least Carlos and Ferrari got a podium and additional points after all this mess!

Aston Martin should have controlled their fuel level better. Regardless if it was a DQ or 10 second penalty, Vettel deserved the punishment as the rule is very clear about 1L left in the tank.

No kidding. Remember at the beginning of this season when people were saying AM would be the 3rd best team and Ferrari would be lucky to finish 6th.

lol. No. Verstappen vs Hamilton. I’m not RB fan, but I’m a fan of Verstappen protecting one of the last records that our Schumacher holds.

But yes, our extra points will inevitably help us take P3 from McLaren, which is great!!

AMF1 drops their appeal. Seb is officially disqualified due to a technicallity. No fault of his own..

Although Seb's disqualification and many like it are unfair on the drivers when it's a team mistake, I'm grateful for the extra points it gives Carlos. Likewise, drivers being penalised when they lose an engine through no fault of their own (Charles, Hungary) is not fair, either. Swings and roundabouts, I suppose.

Max had; has the right idea, go for the win at any cost. The penalties are there even when it's not the drivers fault. For the most part it worked for him. Charles, Hungary is a true example.
