yeah, and it's the equivalent of a lucky Safety Car win, but I don't see us getting this one back in the luck department

I feel good about 2nd and 3rd at this dangerous track and expect that we'll be in great shape for Australia. Glad that Werestoppin played mature and clean today
and that Charles took fastest lap again while Carlos maintained 3rd throughout. We've got a nice gap to RB which should open up further in Melbourne.

Have we got any explanations from the stewards about their decision of not letting Carlos overtake Perez under the SC? if not, then Ferrari should ask some tough questions.

My Melbourne bet is 1st and 3rd (leaving some margin to be surprised), so let's see. If I'll get this right as well I'll consider chasing a career of fortune telling.

    Yep, there is always one.
We have plenty of power in thta Ferrari. With the setup we ran we were already 10km/h slower down the straights without DRS. Add another 11km/h with DRS and we were always going to be a sitting duck in the DRS zones. Charles pushed hard to stay out range. Maybe we took a bit too much out of the tyres to build the gap and Max saved a bit which paid off in the end

the vsc thing can be explained possibly by when it started and ends

i'll have to go back and watch

but let's say it starts at the end of sector 2 where redbull are quick, then ends at the start of sector 2,

redbull got two fast sectors without leclerc being able to respond with a fast sector 1.

if that's the case you have to do something about it, perhaps it's as easy of disabling DRS for 2 laps post vsc

I just hope Ferrari can turn up the wick soon so that this RB straight line advantage will disappear

I think many people are forgetting that we do have a porpoising issue which gets worse with higher top speeds. It's likely that we chose an extra downforce setup as a compromise. I do firmly believe that once that is resolved and we start putting more neutral setups on, we will be matching RB in straight line speed.

From what i understand, higher DF makes the porpoising worse (i heard this on Sky, i can't remember who they interviewed that said this). Suspension setting is the main way to fix purpoising.

“No investigation needed” per the stewards.

The last 2 laps also warranted a “no investigation needed.”

It was good to see a clean battle, just wish Charles came out on top. A double podium is nice but like Rickey Bobby said, “if hon ain’t first, you’re last”

It looked like the Ferraris were running more wing than the Red Bull cars, which would explain the straight line speed differential. The decision made it harder for Charles to defend or attack once Max is within DRS.

Oh well. Hoping for a Ferrari win next time.

I have a feeling our compromise is higher spring rates and higher downforce. We found a good balance with that. Whereas Red Bull are free to run whatever setup they want. This bodes well if true. Where compromised and still faster than the redbulls. Our PU is on par or slightly behind RB; and once we turn it up more pace will come. Overall I feel good. Still miffed that crashstapoen got us. That last yellow flag really sealed it for them.

It's great to be a bit disappointed with 2-3 :) Fantastic start to the season for us. Leclerc is fighting so intelligently, Verstappen was just too fast today.

This was a power hungry track ferrari and red bull are nip and tuck we are faster through the bends they are a little faster down the straits.Ferrari will gain more speed no doubt as season progresses at this stage we are splitting hairs between the two teams, its a long season.Ferrari have come out of the blocks firing from where we were to where we are is like night and day. When was the last time ferrari led both championships from day 1.?I could not be happier with what I have seen,a brilliant car fast and reliable with a fantastic driver pairing.I can only see wonderful things moving foward.

I saw a comment on reddit about how Horner was begging for the yellow flags at the end. Is that true? Why are they able to influence race control like this. Didnt they do that on the last race of 21?

I think he was just being crybaby cause he knew Charles was coming for crash-boy. They got lucky with the accident. I gotta say tho they’re bigger crybabies than two-chains and pumpernickel. We’ll make them cry more in Australia.

I think the no investigation needed was for the fact that the place had been given back, don't know if when the postion was given back ever investigated. I am sure they'll say it was human error or new team blah blah.

Ferrari should ask clarification because if the place was given back during the safety car Carlos could have challenged Max from behind, and that may have had an impact on Max's ability to challenge Charles.

Exactly! That we are disappointed at 2nd (by 0.5s!) and 3rd shows that Ferrari is at the 'sharp end' and should be fighting for the Championships.

Max was whining throughout. Upset also because he was out qualified by his team mate, ended up p4 on the grid and couldn't get past LEC until the very end - when helped somewhat by the yellow..

He was gifted the WDC last year by Masi's ****-up; perhaps he should shut up. #Crybaby

What a race from Charles, hard to watch at times on that track and praying that he wouldn't end up in the wall, he just kept it together and deserved to win but the RB straight line speed ended that dream. We have to be pleased with what the drivers and pit crew have done so far and the F1-75 has put us back in the game big time. A double podium is not to be sniffed at and it's looking very positive for the coming races. My blood pressure is suffering, though!

Completely agree with you. As someone said, imagine this is damage limitation weekend with 2nd and 3rd position, and lost a win by just a half a second! Great result!

    Ferrari got setup wrong
A lot bigger rear wing compared to RB with minimal hard tyre degradation was bad choice.
