Because they began to be consistent. Their curve has an upward trend. Our is the exact opposite. We had 3 good races and then bam, dropped it hard. That's not encouraging at all.

this guy wanted to quit the race....unbelievable.

Fantastic Leclerc! So much bad luck for him when he is so far ahead! Same as his first possible win in Bahrein.
Updates bring always some additional risk I guess... That's it, tough game; this is needed to beat Verstappen.

    And then it's Sainz...
I want Bottas in our team ☺️

Engine issues is just one of them. It's gutting but it happens to all teams. I'm more frustrated when driver errors cost the team points. It's a shame it had to happen today when we were cruising to a win.

I reckon both Norris and McLaren would be up for a bit of $$$ for a driver swap for 2023. External costs are not part of the budget.

The reality is our car is not invincible either, so unfortunately these kind of DNF is something we too will have to deal with eventually.

Now we just hope that it doesn't mean we'll need to take an additional engine

What are you even comparing? Different cars to differend teams, what is that? Sure, Sainz had 1 good season and "destroyed" a guy in his 2nd year in F1. Somehow Norris made a good impression on me back then and seem I was right about him as he is destroying the guy I was wrong about.

Ferrari at some point will have to take 4th engine PU. So that’s a penalty.
This DNF really hurts on that context.

Does the luck that he and Merc have ever run out? So sick of it.

Completely gutted at what happened today.

That is only if the engine is unsalvagable or if they haven't been cycling through the engines instead of waiting for them to blow up.

This was our race to Win. We lost. Next race Monaco, hope leclerc wins it.
I expected much from Carlos Sainz, given his dominance over Norris & Max. He’s disappointing me so far.

I'm on the edge having a stroke, BUT I chose to try and take some positives out of this disaster.
Lec had the best race pace !!!! Faster and with no degradation!!!! Everything else.......

I hope Perez wins this race and Russell clinches P2 or else we are in some big trouble for future races when Verstappen would defend/attack more aggressively once he starts to lead the championship.

Sainz is beating CL? Do circumstances to both matter or only with one?
