Want a Ferrari win... but in light of news recently, the merc foothold in FIA with an ex employee, the FIA stepping in on porpoising.... it all points to a manufactured merc win..... scratch that.... a lh win.

I DO SERIOUSLY HOPE I AM WRONG!

Charles' best circuit, downforce is more important than drag and presumably 21°C air temps and dry. Should be a good weekend. Then again it's Ferrari we're talking about so who knows?

The weather forecasts I've been following show a chance of showers and cool temps and windy for the whole weekend, not ideal for one of our best chances of a win after an unfortunate few races for Charles. I don't trust Merc, though, and with two Brits driving and Wolff's insistence that they are still not competitive, well we'll see.

So it looks like upgrades got delayed AGAIN and we won’t be bringing any of them. Just the new Canada GP rear wing for both cars, does someone know why are the upgrades not ready?

Ferrari put fins on the bottom of the mirrors. Nice and very important and priority update. Should be good for 1/10. [sarcasm]

RedBull will have the advantage because in Silverstone aero efficiency is king, even if Ferrari generates more downforce overall

Rules have been amended after WMSC meeting, which btw Ferrari is a voting member.

    More here.

So Mercedes (James Allison) reckon they can beat Ferrari on merit at Silverstone, funny how they knew about the new technical directive for the double-stay floor before anyone else, I sincerely hope we can prove that they can't. They have reliability on their side, though, but we are due some good fortune for a change.

Under the new changes in the regulations, the way I understand them, we can now make changes in the engines (till we make the permanent fix) with "temporary" components which AFAIK this is a new one and I am not sure if this brings any penalty to the driver any more.
This seems to me like a very good thing for Ferrari.

Teams will now be permitted to undertake temporary changes to their power units in order to avoid adding new elements and risking grid penalties.

But teams will also be allowed to swap an engine or elements in parc fermé with new components or a unit of a newer specification between qualifying and the race without incurring a pitlane start.

Deflection tests for Rear Wing Mainplane Trailing Edge and Beam Wing Flexibility have been updated

Fuel will now be permitted to be chilled to 20°C at hotter races. The temperature reference will be taken one hour in advance of the session
    Also this..

ah nice.....that alone can easily give us HALF a second in lap time.....ok sarcasm here

but whatever happened to BIG updates for Silverstone, like new rear suspension to help with porpoising, reshaped side pods for better aero efficiency....oh, i get it, IT WAS ALL RUMORS.....

[Craig Scarborough] More problems for Carlos Sainz? His nearly complete car is being dismantled and the spare tub is in the garage. Binotto constantly on his phone.

[Albert Fabrega] Chasis change on Carlos Sainz car. Something went wrong on the final checks.

At least they caught it before FP1. This is a good thing.

I have to agree with you, stefa, this is a crucial month of GPs and we just have to regain our momentum, but it'll be a hard job to recoup what we've already lost.

Carlos refused to say OK to "let him pass! "
