well if you're going by the pace we had in Bahrain, you're right, but then we don't have the pace for this season anyway, in which case, the penalty also doesn't matter

if that's the pace, then we can only hope to beat Aston, and the penalty won't stop us from doing that.

The logical thing would be restart from the pit lane and change everything.
They plan to use r engines during the season anyway. Provided of course that they don't plan to introduce another reliability upgrade later.

they'll probably do that too later and take the next CE with all the other components, not like other teams won't too

don't forget last year, Leclerc used like 20 exhausts

I agree. If the the SF23 is fast, then this penalty won't hurt too much and we can make some ground back in later races. If it's slow, this penalty won't make much difference.

It's good to be positive even with the 10-place grid penalty, but we all know how easy it is to get caught up in the mayhem of the start/first lap, and it wouldn't take much to turn a mid-field start into another DNF. Just being realistic, which is what I'm afraid of. If Charles can get through that, it's game on.

SF-23's in the garage with the single pylon rear wing at the moment.
It's not how start but how you finish.

hopefully a much strengthened one, and not the floppy one they tried to test/use in Bahrain.

After watching it flapping around in Bahrain FP, I hope to heaven we're not going to get rear wings taking off on the straight with pylon and/or DRS failure. That's all we need. I realise we need to experiment but at what cost?!

i'm sure we'll test it out on Friday first
and before you criticize Ferrari so much, don't forget the DRS failures Red Bull had last year...

I'm not criticising Ferrari, it's just that it looked positively dangerous in Bahrain and with Charles starting with no points on the board and a 10-place grid drop, plus the speeds on the Jeddah straight, it could be a bit of a gamble.

I'd just like to let it be known that Ferrari are on pole in Hypercar at Sebring

Yep, Fuoco did well. That 499P is promising.

Red Bull have a penalty to serve, later this year their development pace will take a hit, Ferrari should capitalize then but worry is RB might be so much ahead on points table by then that catching them will be a huge task. It makes imperative to eat as much points as possible in first half of the year, hence I am concerned about this penalty

Can we start a 499P thread here? It’s still scuderia Ferrari as far as I’m concerned. And it’s something positive unlike the F1 team so far.

    No, this is Ferrari F1.

You need to go to the other forum and look for a thread called WEC or 499P of this year.
