Great quali performance from both Charles and Carlos, I thought Charles' car was on fire in his final run but thankfully he was just giving it all and the car seemed to be running much lower. Weather may impact the rest of the weekend and with a sprint shoot-out and race tomorrow, the drivers will have their work cut out. Looks like the team have made some real progress so here's hoping.

Strong performance so far, good to see Charles come back to form in qualifying. Looks like we are getting to grips with the car now.

It’s good to see drivers thanking engineers at factory who worked hard to bring these upgrades which was originally planned for Budapest-Hungary.

A good result here would be a gift for them & boost the morale.

Max Verstappen has been cleared of impeding Kevin Magnussen in Q1 and keeps pole position for Sunday's Austrian GP.

i'm not surprised, not even the least; only the ferrari drivers get penalized when impeding other drivers

Have you seen the video of Max "blocking" K-Mag? I have and it looks 50/50 to me like it wasn't a blatant block.

also, i think Christian Horner told Max "looks like Charles took more of a risk in the last corner too..."

    so.... ?

Max took risks there all qualifying long, and his inferiority made him go over each time. Charles was conservative there all qualifying long, put the banker in on his first run, and is able to put it all together on his final lap without going over.

    Superior car control. Simple.

    Max was out driven today.

It's raining at the track at time of post. (Morning)

They say it should stop raining later in the morning. Should be a wet F3.
