Typical. Be a real setback if he misses this practice. Carlos looks competitive

It looks like Leclerc will miss this session.
It's not how start but how you finish.

Charles would have to do a lot of works in FP3 if his car could be fixed in time

    Another installation issue for Charles?

Wrong installation issue has already costed him a win in Spain last year and a podium in Bahrain this year. It's always him for some reason.

Sainz race pace drop significantly lap after lap
He started strong at mid 1'33.5 ~ 1'33.7 then dropped into 1'34s just after 3 laps...
    Max still doing low 1'33s

he should demand and swap mechanics with Sainz's side, they seem to be more competent.....same way Nico did wiht Lewis's in 2016 i think

Yeah. It's always Charles who either retires due to reliability issues or lose grid position because his engineer's failure to inform him on the radio about cars that are on timed laps. Weird.

    Might be Tyre management?

Perez with the same soft tyres and age is 0,5s faster than Sainz per lap

Edited: this was the first stint, now Sainz is on mediums

But Carlos was getting faster and Perez was getting slower. Carlos did 38.269 in the middle sector before he pitted for the mediums, which is mighty impressive on a 14 laps old softs and faster than Perez was able to manage during his stint.

Both Max and Checo just did a 1'33.0 on medium...
The RBR is just too quick
Mclaren on mediums and hards have the same lap time or even better than Sainz now

Edit: Piastri just did a 1'32.9 on same age medium

Not gonna read too much into it. Carlos was doing 1"34.3 before he pitted for the mediums. And if you listened radio, you'd know that they were playing around with the engine mappings during the longer run.

    So confusing FPs.
We, Am, and Merc looks like we have some things to solve and then you see McLaren and even Williams suddenly from last to compete for the podium!!!!!
    FERRARI FOR EVER !!!!!!!
