When Max passing leclerc/Perez/Ham
I don't its the setup. This car is inherently quite poor in high speed corners, which is a surprise if you consider how good the F1-75 was in corners, even post TD39. Hamilton was very strong through turn 10-11, he always able to find a tenth or two more lap time over Charles.
But the SF23 was stronger than the Merc in turns 1, 7-9, 12-13 (as good as the RB), 18-19 (as good as the RB). Also our engine has again proven to be the strongest. Even with the low DF setup, Hamilton couldn't catch Charles on any of the long straights. The acceleration was simply crazy and the top speed was very good as well.
A very good race for us today, finishing only behind the Red Bulls. There were times during this season where it didnt look like we could be on the podium for the remaining races, but I am glad we were the best of the rest, and not through luck either
Charles have a great qualifying, and turn that into a podium finish.
Leclerc said that he was saving fuel by the end and still pushing to maintain the gap with Hamilton.
The pace difference between RB18 and F1-75 after TD39 was pretty much same today’s difference between RB19 and SF-23
So after a year we haven’t been able to close any gap to RB with this minor design changes.
An encouraging race for Charles but a shame for Carlos.
This year we are fighting Merc, AM and Macca so a good result for us
Forza Jules
Has anybody figures out why Red Bull is so strong yet? Is it still a mystery?
Forza Ferrari
"And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it."
Happy to see Charles on the podium again, shame for Carlos, tyre management was possibly helped by the fuel-saving and for once we had good pace as best of the rest. A pity we couldn't get two cars in the points and overtaken AM, but Charles now P5 in the driver's championship. The drivers deserve their summer break and so do we! Let's come back fighting.
Well we are at half season. The ferrari report card is provably a D.Lets see what the 2nd half brings.A good note to finish on Charles on the podium.More of that coming in the second half one would hope.
I agree they have a well thought out aero-suspension set up working in sync to keep the car flat at the perfect height under engine load.
I have a feeling next year Ferrari are going to copy the pull rod front and push rod back with high pick up point like Red Bull, it seems the way to go.
Ferrari had a good race and seemed to have the degradation under control and with no running in FP1. Ferrari need to find the DRS trick to have a chance to win against Verstappen next year.
It'd the Redbull aero package and the magical Drs that they have.Engine wise ferrari is probably the most powerful on the grid but our Drs and aero package is way down on red bull.
My mistake , we still behind AM 5 points .
Look like a dream team is coming
Red Bull $$wise can buy F-1 ! They have no limit to improving their car; team when needed. Merc 6 yrs with Lewis in the best car at the time driving it the best that could be done. Ferrari is the dream of every driver before they retire regardless of how they are doing . IMO everyone @ Ferrari now is overpaid and too secure as to how they are doing on the track; except for Carlos. Fred got it made! All said; 2nd place WDC; WCC will make all just fine.
our aero package is also very wise and excellent. maybe not the best on the grid. but one of the best for sure. on the other hand, RB has a ground effect edge off over us. their key is hidden in the bottom of the car. they extract extra downforce from their ground package, making their car more stable in the corners.
Our bottom and aero package was the best of the 2022 season, we lost against them unfortunately at the table. we started better than RB in 2022. as we did see that we produced a car as much as they did. designing aero is some kind of battle against air. there is not only one way to win it. we followed our own track and rb traced their own way. in the end, these both teams find a way to beat it. (in 2022) you can find to beat the air in many ways.

Our concept in 2022 ONLY worked due to the flexible floor we had; as soon as the TD39 was introduced and came into effect, as well as our flexy floor got banned, all of a sudden we WERE NOWHERE. And stupid Binotto was too proud to admit that the new technical directive affected us in a BIG WAY….OH, and to this day we are still nowhere.
Sad to say, but our “bathtub” side panel/sidepods philosophy does NOT seem to work anymore, and I’ve read rumors that the 2024 car will be very similar to the RB19, but Ferrari will take that a step further and make improvements on it.
Sadly, going this way we will only play catch up, as red bull will be that much more ahead due to them already running been running this concept for TWO years now.
But who knows, the optimist in me is hoping that Ferrari will find that “magic bullet” and come up with a cracker of a car in 2024….TIME WILL TELL.
