Our car seems stiffly sprung as well. Even heard that mentioned during broadcast.
This is what I meant. Stiff suspension and very low ride height means the car is ridding the bumps more violently aka mechanical bouncing. This is testing, so Ferrari playing with the ride height and the suspension stiffness is quite a normal thing to do.

Hmmm, we'll see. Last year even with a car that was clearly flawed, Charles qualified a tenth behind Max without doing the 2nd flying lap, and would've finished P3 if not for the reliability.

I don't know where we're right now, but I do know that the SF24 is a much better car than the SF23.

    How do you know that?

From what the team said, and according to Formu1a.uno, the most reliable source regarding Ferrari, the SF24 has 30 points more downforce than the Abu Dhabi spec SF23.

And from the onboard, the difference between the SF24 and SF23 is quite substantial.

HAAS tops out the day with most laps at 148. So both Ferrari and HAAS got good info regarding engine reliability.
It's not how start but how you finish.

I'm conflicted because I'm glad this years car seems like a definite improvement over last years, more predictable for the drivers is great because I imagine having such a lack of confidence in the car last year really compromised our drivers as well as obviously the tyre wear issue.

I do have this feeling in the pit of my stomach though like with the Mercedes in 2014 with Red Bull though.

i dont know but this sounds pretty good for me...

from the top speeds posted above RB maybe run higher engine modes, thus the difference.

The K2 (overboost) was used purely in sector 2, to optimize performance on the straight leading to turn 11.
Which sounds accurate as the SF24 clocked the highest speed in the Sector 2 (Charles: 270km/h).

“Ferrari, the first day of the SF-24 was more consistent than many months with the 23. Telemetry shows reduced power and high loads, no work on performance, however the improvement on degradation is considered significant”

Very positive. The SF24 is a massive step forward over the SF23 everywhere, even in slow speed corners.

Ferrari will not raise the engine mode during the testing.

i like the last paragraph of Vaseur's statement....so true

(...) We hope to be able to get closer to the top, which at the moment is represented by Red Bull, but we are not copying anyone; If you copy someone, you're always late and always one step behind."

Morning session wont be resumed. What a joke, vital test time down the drain (no pun intended!)
