Perez is doing a race sim. His first stint on fresh mediums:

    1:37.864
    1:38.012
    1:37.845
    1:38.150
    1:38.393
    1:38.644
    1:38.668
    1:38.798
    1:38.888
    1:39.293
    1:39.147

From the actual times , race Sims, we can't make any conclusions.
From the feedback, analysis from experts etc they say that the stints are quiet promising.
Hope that it's not just what they think we are !!!!

Perez's first stint was on brand new fresh set of mediums, Charles's started his stint on 6-laps old scrubbed rubbers.

So looking at the pace and the drop-off, the Red Bull doesn't look out of the world, compared to the SF24.

    From Sky:
Long run analysis: Leclerc vs Perez
We have four hours and 27 minutes to go today and let's look at the long runs that have been going in in the last half an hour.

Charles Leclerc's done a 14-lap stint on the C3 tyres where he started in the 1:38s then dropped into the 1:39s after six laps and there was clear tyre degradation across the stint. He's now back in the pit lane.

Sergio Perez is also on the C3 tyres and still out there, seemingly on a full race simulation. He also started in the 1:38s but dipped into the 1:39s after 10 laps and had better tyre degradation.

The Milton Keynes team seems to have outperformed the competition, but all that glitters is not gold. In an unexpected move, considering his usual demeanor, it is Helmut Marko who brings the Austrians back down to earth. In a statement reported by German automobile magazine Auto Motor und Sport, the super consultant stated that “the advantage is not as significant as it seems.”

“We were the only ones to go out on the track with new medium tires in the cooler evening hours – explained Helmut Marko – This explains the significant advantage gained in the afternoon. We estimate the real advantage to be about three-tenths of a second.” – he pointed out.

This sentiment seems to echo the sentiments coming from Ferrari. The men in Red don’t seem to be intimidated by Red Bull, although the feeling is that Max Verstappen remains the top favorite for the championship. Ferrari, Mercedes, and McLaren, on the other hand, seem very close.

Still 0.3s is very fast , they can still pull 9s gap after 30 laps . I hope it's more like 0.1 second gap between us and RB .

Is just Marko talking out of his a $$ ; I wouldn’t believe anything that comes out of his mouth.

The Sf24 is miles away and night and day difference compared to sf23 (straight out of the box), and if the team can build on that, I’m sure we have a chance to beat the Bulls this season for wins….NOT sure will be enough to take the championship, but it will be a be really good compared to where we were last year.

Sainz did qute a nice string in the low 37's over 12 laps. Quite encouraging... I don't think RB is in reach right now, but hopefully Ferrari has some really solid upgrades coming soon as reported.

Does it really matter during testing? Times during testing are not indicative of where a certain F1 car stands within the pecking order. Laps and mileage are most important.

We'll know in 2 weeks where everyone stands relative to this track.

The difference between the C3 and C4 is usually 1.5sec.

you can't do a straight comparison between teams even if they are on the same compound.
why you may ask??? because you dont' know what fuel load they are running (you can only guess), also the engine mappings each are running....so there are lots of variables.

the only answer to this will be Q3 when the top 10 will run with a splash of fuel in their tanks and engine cracked up to maximum

one more week and YOU as well as all of us will find out

Long run pace has been fixed. This is the return of the F1-75, but more refined and a lot faster.

This is more than impressive. The pace on the C1 and C2 was incredible, the two tyres that gave us the most struggle during races.

But now we have the downforce to make them work.

yes, you are 100% right....we were miles away on the C1 and C2 last year in race pace

i still am cautiously optimistic about all of this, since it is still testing afterall.....but yeah, i feel much better about our chances to win races this year then i was last year around this time

The very first lap of the stint was 36.725, on full fuel load. And no, there was no DRS.

Something strange and impressive going with the SF24, I think the car could've gone much faster.

you cant do a direct comparison but you may do a somehow an amateur approximation. thats why im asking the compound differences in lap times.
