1.3 seconds deg after 21 laps on the C3 was quite impressive. Charles and Piastri both did proper race sims with live pitstops, and if it was the actual race, Charles would've lapped the Mclaren.

Lec's race pace was a bit less consistent, BUT obviously faster.
SO conclusions after the end of testing???
I think we can ralex a bit that this car is more or less what we hoped it would be. Everything looks on line with teams targets.
We look to be 2nd force and I would say comfortably. The gap with RB is not gonna be big ,but not gonna fight them for wins either at the start. Now if the theory comes true that this is our base car and we have a clear development plan that will give us quite a lot more performance, then we could challenge them later on.
All in all i think we are in a pretty good position starting this championship!!!!!

listen to yourself, you can't even hide your bias

if we're going to spout things that don't matter...

Charles absolutely dominiated the Lockdown F1 ESports... It wasn't even close.

Maxipad was too chicken to even compete.

as long as Red Bull can't start from the back and still win like last year.

we need to be there to pick up pieces in the opening races, and win the development race, which we can in theory by finishing 3rd last year, we have more budget

    basically an inverse 2022

Charles did a proper race sim with live pitstops, Verstappen spent time inside the garage after each stint. So they are not comparable.

Yes, I saw some comments about this. Probably much less fuel for Verstappen.

There's still a lot of questions, but quite a lot of positives as well... Let's see next week...

Ferrari: Fred__18 notes a very interesting comparison between Sainz's race simulations yesterday and Leclerc's today.
    - It is clear that during the first stint, Leclerc's control of the degradation was indeed good, with a better performance than that of Sainz. Relays 2 and 3 were started much more aggressively by Leclerc and with a significantly faster pace (often around 1 second!) and this “justifies” the greater degradation.
    - The impression is that Ferrari tried yesterday with Sainz to manage the pace, while today with Leclerc he was pushing hard to see how much the tires really were at the limit. The response from Charles' car was generally good. When Charles stopped the simulation because the clock was over, he had a virtual advantage of a good 18 seconds over Sainz's simulation.

He didn't do a proper race sim . Only midium / long stints with different tires. No one knows what fuel he got in each run . Maybe lighter ,maybe heavier then Lec's comparable stint from his race sim .
    Nothing to really read there.
The only good thing is that things went as team has calculated, the data align with the factory anf we have a very solid base with a good potential leap and with no bad characteristics from last year !!

Spot on mate. I need to see 4 races before I can fully understand this season.

Like I said from the beginning of testing, we need to see how the first 4-5 races pan out for us to get a clear picture of the true pecking order

    Having said that, FORZA FERRARI!!!

I feel like it's gonna be another 2020 season but instead of HAM BOT VER we will get VER PER LEC or VER LEC SAI . At the second half of the season we will catch up and then fighting the championship next year like 2021 . Sources says RB is running low engine mode and still have nearly 320kph of top speed is so scary .
Look like a dream team is coming

Sources "think" RB running low engine power, because all them "believe" that RB is very far ahead, so Ferrari looking closer to RB means they must be running low engine!

Last year's top speed in Q3 was 326.6, and both Perez and Ver had already reached 321 in testing. So I don't buy for a second that their engine is running low engine mode.

Also that 326.6 was SF23's top speed and the top speed of the SF24 never gone above 318 during the testing. So if anyone is running low power mode, it's Ferrari.

Don't you know of "Drag" ? Could be that RB aero is way more efficient than Ferrari and with lower engine modes they are still having higher end of straight speeds. Top speeds for me are not the correct parameter to identify engine modes; it is the peak acceleration out of corners. But then this parameter is also marred by the fuel load variation. Basically we need to wait for 1 more week !!

Not to mention TEAMS not fully deploying their hybrid systems out of the corners and for straight line speed.

Agreed, we'll have to wait and see in a weeks time.

Yeah I know. I also know that the SF24 recorded highest top speed on the straight without opening the DRS. Which tells me that the SF24 is even more efficient than the SF23, which was the fastest car on the straight last year.

Red Bull may be ahead, but they are not some god tier team with 1 second/lap advantage over Ferrari. In qualifying, we'll be a lot closer and may even beat them. And in races, the gap right now is a mere 1-2 tenths/lap.

This is going into never-ending debate as we don’t know for sure about engine mode, fuel load, testing parameters etc for each team. In a week we will have a better picture, and even better one after 3-4 races. As long as the the team feels positive it should be good enough for now

Anyone see what Vasseur said to French T.V. about Max and the RB20 on Max's last day stints?
