What championship on the line? If McLaren can keep up at a circuit like this, they will absolutely destroy Ferrari around Austin, Mexico and Qatar. It's a miracle if they don't 1-2 the WDC at this rate given how slow Max is.
Surprised at some of the vitriol from people on here, Leclerc still finished second, the Mclaren was faster on the straights due to less wing, even Piastri said he thought the lunge had a 50/50 chance. But fair game, Piastri got the pass, that's racing.
Sainz should have not been trying to fight Leclerc but rather defending against Perez and I consider the crash far worse than losing the win as it increases Mclaren's lead even more in the WCC. Ferrari needed those points.
Probably we need to look at In-lap & Out-lap of Leclerc & Oscar. That should give a better idea.
Anyways, ferrari lost important points & Win.
Need to bring that flexi-wing to Austin & take a fight to McLaren. If Ferrari-Charles can fight for the win in Austin then it’s game on for WCC.
McLaren owner = Bahrain
FIA president = Bahrain
Enough said
McLaren won this title the moment Todt resigned the presidency. Since then they've brought more upgrades than anyone else, seemingly not afraid of any budget cap audits. Not to mention illegal car parts that get waved by for an offer the scrutineers can't refuse. It's a pretty cunning plot, I have to hand it to them. Controlling the governing body tends to pay off for Penske at the Indy 500 too. It's kind of effective.
It's the continuation of the team that did the industrial espionage in 2007 so nothing surprises me with them. If McLaren didn't get their hands on the Ferrari IP that spring that's two consecutive easy WDC but all out of a sudden McLaren became much quicker.

I think this race was pretty much won by McL's flexy front win . Its like a 2nd drs. They can run more loaded wings so they are oretty fast on corners but on straights it gives them an edge. Im so cnfused when i see the top speeds of McL on fPs ,witch was the lowest and how ease they could overtake /defend on the race . Not only against us but with RedBull also.
Lets see if we manage to have the same gain ,when (IF) we have our own in Austin
FERRARI FOR EVER !!!!!!!
they were through the straights?
you saw Norris hold up Perez through the castle section earlier right?
you back Perez off in the castle section, and get a good launch out of the final corner. Red Bull had too much wing on to pass if you got a good launch out of the final corner. And their wings don't move so they're stuck with that wing level

I guess it’s 2017 or 2018 Hungary GP… where Ferrari ordered Kimi to cover Vettel while Ham is attacking. Vettel was having issue & just nursing the car in the right hand corners.
Charles does have outside chance on WDC, so he should be given the preference. On top of it, if Sainz passed Charles, he would be sitting duck for Perez. So potential P2-P3 would have gone.
Sainz did not even attack Leclerec he was just on the racing line...
Forza Ferrari
Hmm Carlos lost a possible 15 points, Charles 7 points for the team.
But hey ho we were fighting the top team atm.
It's not long ago since we were crying about being the 4th quickest team.
We have come a long way in months. Kudos to team Ferrari.
Now we look forward to Singapore next week where we could be strong.
I am sure lessons have been learned.
Forza Jules
Good result in the end that's racing .At least we were fighting the top team.Ferrari are on the right path 2nd half of the season has started very well indeed.Carlos could have assisted somewhat but his ego ruins him he got exactly what he deserved.
So, Sainz crashes into Checo at the penultimate lap...as per Karun's breakdown.
It's not how start but how you finish.
