Now we have to hope the upgrade package that the team has in line works flawlessly and gives the car what it needs to push thru the end.

The great thing is the pit wall is working great, strategy works with no flaws, pit stops are very good as well.

One last thing, as long as Charles has mathematical chances for the WDC he should be prioritized, Carlos no longer has chances.
i 100% agree with this....but Carlos can sometimes be really stubborn, like he was in the sprint.
Charles wanted to bring his tires in nice and slow, YET Carlos was feeling racy from the start.

i know that Charles chances at WDC is dependant of some DNF's from both Max and Norris, but in F1 anything is possible.....like it was the case for Kimi in 2007....he went into the last 2 races with a big defficit (remember back then it was only 10pts for a win), and managed to clinch it in the last race in Brazil

so yeah, very slim chances, but in F1 anything is possible.

It would be another Fairy Tale and has similarities to 2007. Back then the main focus was on Hamilton & Alonso and then Kimi snatches the WDC from under their noses. This year everyone is watching Max & Lando......all we need is a few more shenanigans like turn 1 yesterday. Lando cannot control the pressure, fortunately it's not Piastri in WDC contention.
I would love Charles to clinch the title this year (yes I know it's improbable) but somehow I dread what the situation will be next year!!!!!!
True Sainz can be stubborn and refuse to comply with the team but I reckon he's a kittycat in comparison.

i didn't post here on Saturday after the sprint, mostly because i was very hungover, but i noticed that Norris really lucked out by starting from 4th or wherever, I was wondering when Charles took fourth if he would analyze the sprint start and use it to his advantage in his race, and he did

This is a 500 IQ move from Charles.

Look at the restart in the Grand Prix, Charles took a bit of defensive line in to turn 1, twice i think, when he didn't need to. This is a guy who didn't want a repeat of Baku. Listen to his radio messages before the pit stop, again this is a guy who didn't want a repeat of Baku.

Now, also go watch Norris attempt to pass Max at this race, and then go look at Charles battle Max in Bahrain 2022, Saudi Arabia 2022, Silverstone 2020 (2019? not sure), and you'll see the difference.

He is every bit the driver Max is. When you speak of top drivers, Charles, Max, Alonso, Hamilton although he is definitley past his prime.

and congratulations to Fred and the entire team.

To turn it around the way they did after those summer updates is very impressive. Using the tyre test at Mugello to it's full advantage.

Let's bring some updates to improve qualifying and go for this ttitle.

I believe Ferrari F1 team is in good harmony.

Good to see team is working flat out week in & out, not giving up title, hunger for the win & good race strategies etc. We are getting there to the top. Thanks for the engineers in the factory & special mention of Fred vasseur.

Sainz had the perfect weekend of the Season I guess, he was almost matched Charles. Who generally is the benchmark for performance in race.

Charles is always special talent, eagerly waiting Ferrari to give him a strong car which can compete for WDC title.

If not that slump in 1st part of the season, he would be in stronger position for the title. Hopefully next year Ferrari will be on top form. It’s exciting season ahead Ferrari vs RB vs Mclaren. It will be absolute feast for F1 Fans.

What made us competitive on this track compared to say, Singapore ?

Can we safely say we're going to be competitive for the next 5 races and challenge for the wins, or was this track specific ?

I'm super happy for this result, happy for all the guys in the factory, it's as if there was a sign of relief and well earned reward for their hardwork. Can't get rid if the grin on my face!!

exactly...that was a LOT of work from the whole team that was happening behind the scenes to get the SF24 back up to speed, REALLY, REALLY impressive

so yeah, KUDOS to Fred and the whole team....something like this WOULD never have happened under teh Binoutto helm....we'd still be chasing our tail till the end of the season to try and recouperate some performance.

Let's hope & pray that this good form continues till the end of the season and beyond!!!!!!
The drivers must be well motivated now that they can see things being done. Well managed Fred.
I almost wish Carlos was staying....he's up there bringing in good points for the team.

If Lewis gets his 8th WDC next year and retires happy to have won it with Ferrari; I see Carlos coming back 2026. As you so well said it; he brings in good points for sure.

This season is such a rollercoaster that nobody can safely say anything :) We'll se and that's the best part... we don't know what to expect. One thing that would make this season even better would be somehow going back in time and fixing the failed Barcelona upgrade sooner.

how's he going to beat Leclerc when he can't even beat Russell?

Lewis is being kind to Russell knowing the Merc is a bonb. If hopefully Ferrari has the car to win with and Masi isn't hiding in Ferrari's garage Lewis will come back to how he was when Merc was real ! 105 wins is no joke !!!

I guess, a good 3-4week break gave ferrari to work on its car set up in the simulator or at the factory with the new package (Monza) as they’ve already collected the data from last 3 race.
Considering it’s a 3 race back to back & that too with sprint weekends.

For others Mercs/RB/Mclaren they’ve brought the upgrades, with the limited testing it will take time to fine tune the package & understand to unlock the performance.

We cannot relay on DNFs and will have to find the strategy to beat them on track. It will be an interesting few weekends.

hes dreaming mate....brembo is in love with Lewis. he thinks and hopes to break Michael's records in WDC's....that ain't gonna happen as Charles is gonna wipe the floor with him next year.

brembo is just a TROLL here....i've put him on the ignore list LONG ago....i'd suggest you do the same.

don't forget the testing sessions at Ferrari's Mugello circuit with Leclerc and Giovinazzi i believe.

i also think it's track to track.

I also don't think it's such a sudden uptick in pace. We have had this pace, we're just so often stuck trying to make up for less than ideal qualifying positions.

In Singapore, that was caused by a sudden drop in track temps because of a red flag.

In Austin, temps were in our favor, qualifying was satisfactory enough to get Leclerc clean air and he never looked back.

And yes, i do beileve the team has better understood setups, they've fixed the bouncing, we can assume in the simulator and they confirmed it at Mugello.

    Thanks Nani,

When he got into P1 at the first corner, Leclerc was pretty strong on the medium tyres, but i don't think he pushed that hard the hard wall tyres. All this just makes me wonder if we've just been unlucky in recent races and that we couldn't show really show what we had ? But hey, May this continue till the end of the season. Just happy that we can at least challenge, that's all i want, and if we're in a position to fight for the CONSTRUCTORS, Then i'll be helluva impressed that's for sure.

    Cheers

you could also argue that Austin is a bumpy track where all teams are forced to raise ride heights, and that levels things into our favor.

but all agree the resurfacing made the track less bumpy, so this theory could be refuted too

    we'll see
