2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix - Pactice & Qualifying

Well, we looked decent in Fp1, both on Mediums and Softs (we're as fast as McLaren or at least very close to them)

The Mercedes seems love cold track (as it was in Canada, Silverstone and Spa) + huge track evolution so the gap seems to be huge

Fp2, same as fp1 and many race before

We looked strongest on mediums, but not as fast on softs

Still our race sims looked to be the best out there

If the race pace is good, and the top speed, then it's sound good as this is a good track for overtaking

Promising. We don’t need to start on pole, as the race pace is very decent.

This warm up thing, baffles me a bit. Ok we have warm up issues, because on theory, we dont put so much stress on the tires hence tire warming but on the other hand we are gentle on race .
Aren't this problem supposed to be worse on harder tires ?? How come we used to be fast(er) on mediums / hards ( on fast laps, not race pace) and hit problems on softs ,witch supposedly are easier to warm them ????

So far it looks as if the hype about us being favourite going into this weekend is
just hype!!!! Seems we are back to the old problem getting tyres warmed up.....a problem that doesn't go away.

    Charles Las Vegas Friday summary:
"It was not a great day for us and it seems to have been tricky for everyone else as well. We are not as strong as we expected to be coming into the weekend. With the cold weather conditions, it was difficult to bring the tyres up to temperature, which we knew would be a challenge, so we will work on that. Let’s see what we can do tomorrow."

Yeah, that is something I don’t get as well. But we’ve had issues with warm up the tires over one single lap pretty much all season. It was way worse at the beginning as during the season we’ve managed to make it a bit better, not 100% but better

And this seems to hinder us during the race as well as we need a few laps to bring in the tires gently, and then they perform really well, really competitive times a d have really good tire wear….so yeah, I’m a bit puzzled too that the team can’t fix this issue entirely

Maybe we’re a bit in the back foot with our suspension design, and hopefully with all the rumours going around that from 2025 we’ll have front pull rod and rear pushrod suspension, that may fix our tire issues entirely and fight at the front from the beginning

    Time will tell

guys, having Merc in the mix is great, if they can take points away from Mclaren that's exactly what we need.

yeah it is great, but the best scenario for us to gain maximum points WCC wise, would be US to be fastest followed by Merc and then Mclaren....

but yeah i get what you are saying as well

were there or thereabouts….as long as we take home more points this weekend from McLaren, then I’ll be happy
Sad part is that Merc are the strongest and it’s gonna be hard for us to beat them….but maybe we have better race pace…..we’ll find out soon enough

Pole means very little here race pace and tyre management with right set up will win any one of the top 4 teams can win this one.I think Ferraris long race pace looks good.

Mercs - Fav for pole. Ferrari should target 2nd row. Thats their best chance.

Mercs like cold tracks with low grip - Canada/Silverstone & now alas Vegas.

Good result considering cold track temps.

Great job by Sainz…!! Leclerc suffers heavy in S1 on new tyres.

There’s a potential of 1-2 tomorrow, depends on how soon Sainz clears Russel & Leclerc on Gasly.

Should have kept Sainz over Hamilton though. He’s useless now, makes mistakes every weekend

No. Move on. Hamilton will be good next year.

A win is in play for both, race pace should be great, which is more important. I would not be surprised to see another Leclerc win starting P4, seems to be his lucky number this year.

He makes no mistakes counting salary$$, ! Ferrari is lucky to sign him up! Remember Masi not Max beat him out of his 8th WDC.
