Man we are really slow, if we start with Maldonado and those guys around......... I don't wanna think about it.

Let's hope we can get p5 and p6 with some luck.

It has me boggled to.... I know the track don't really suit our car and it suits maccas more but to go frombeen .3 from pole to 1 second slower in a week with supposed upgrades is a mystery..

Its going to be a very bad deja vu if we have the Lotus start in front of us.

Are we still doing aero testing in FP3? Are we sandbagging? It doesn't make sense.

    Goodbye Hope .... Hello reality
It seems that I have exhausted my bonus by god.

If tomorrow fails I think they should really try to focus on 2013 ... So you can make a strategic withdrawl, reorganize and work completely on parts for 2013 and use the last races as a test run. 2013 the test session will be more limited as now. And as it seems: we don't have enough innovative design concepts, and those less we have don't work as designed as our resources seems to be limited in developing offside of the track (where have the good times gone when we were able to test night and day on test track Fiorano)?

It is possible to construct "un la machina" which can beat those Newey rockets (especially Ferrari knows). But this means Ferrari must start to deal with the testing restrictions and make their offside track and computer/simulation based development work. On this I can't see any improvement since 5 years.

But maybe victories start taste more sweet after all this we have to go through .... (remember myself: Hockenheim 94 ...)

Our car is anyway not suited for a high downforce track like Yas Marina.....also the updates introduced are not a guarantee of increase in performance and pace......so circuit characteristics + better upgrades on others' cars + confused Ferrari management = we are 1 second off pace

I think this race is a one-off for us, because this track just doesn't suit our car, simple as that. If we could just weather the storm and get the best result possible then in the next race we should be back in business. The Texas track seems to be much faster than the Abu Dhabi and fast flowing tracks suit our car the best. So this weekend seems to be all about damage limitation.

    Different programmes11.3.2012

Abu Dhabi, 3 November – Saturday’s free practice once again saw the McLarens on top of the time sheet, as they were in FP1. Lewis Hamilton was quickest in 1.42.130 ahead of Jenson Button who did a 1.42.420. Third was Sebastian Vettel in the Red Bull (1.42.614) while the Ferraris were eighth with Fernando Alonso (1.43.133) and eleventh with Felipe Massa (1.43.480.) It was the usual preparation for qualifying for the Scuderia’s Spanish driver, concentrating on a comparison of the two types of tyre – Medium and Soft – brought to the futuristic Arab track by Pirelli. Fernando also tried new wings on his F2012, while Felipe did an extra run to evaluate a set-up change.

lol, did you forget that we started focusing on 2012 half way through 2011, and this car was the result?

If this is the pace we don't look good at all here.....but somehow I still believe we will see something different this afternoon and tomorrow.

Likewise. Not sure why, but the results are just too bad to be true and many things just don't add up here. I think we are quite closer to RBR and McLaren, but sadly not equal/ahead of them on quali terms.

therefore I said: strategic withdrawl and work on our weakness --> the offside development first ...
Each year they tell us: we have problem with our wind tunnel so the new parts are crap ... And it seems that nobody at Ferrari can close this issue for ever ... When my boss in my company has problem with me, I better change or will be fired sooner than later. But in this case it seems they just did "workarounds" they still haven't worked ...

But don't worry: I still can remember as they told us, that the F2012 will follow a radical concept to close the gap ... that's somehow right: the radical concept is do not to improve deterministically.
For example: the new diffusor seems as quick as the old one (compared Massa to Alonso)

But, come what may! I like to watch this spanish guy pushing the red car with the prancing horse .... spirit of this sport for me is also to accept the strength of your competitors but still give the best and never give up.
My heard would even break completely if this would happen ...

A qualifying top 6 that would look like that...

    1. Ham
    2. But
    3. Web
    4. Vet
    5. Alo
    6. Mas

...would be quite good result. Of course I wish that both our guys could be on front row, but that's probably not going to happen.

Yes, I know that we can't do that at this crucial stage of the season, but what other choice do we have? It should be us in place of the Maccas but unfortunately we're not, so all we can do is damage limitation. Just try to get as good result as possible.

Well, let's be honest: Alonso just HAS to finish in front of Vettel tomorrow. If not from then on we have to depend on miracles and miracles do not happen that often....

i guess it is a bit too optimistic. set aside the faith in red team, one of Ferraris may not get into Q3
