Once he sees the video himself then will apologise definitely.

Let’s see if golden boy gets a penalty...

I dont think they are gonna hand Vettel a penalty.

Both were guilty. Why did Lerlerc squeze team mate in the first place. And why did Seb go left when he was ahead. Charles wasnt innocent. Would nearly crashed on Lap 1 by similar move with norris
Who cares season is over.

Yup Lec didn’t leave enough space at first where vettel got squeezed but Lec has every right to do so.
After that when vettel passed Lec there no point where vettel need to push his team mate.

Also these Ferrari cars very sensitive, even with slight touch every part is getting out easily.
Look at merc & RB, it’s like their car can run full distance even with damage floor/wing etc

Look, he's the fourth best driver on the grid tied with Ricciardo and way better than Bottas.

The whole problem is that he can't accept his team mate is faster. He could be a fabulous #2 if he only realized that was his job. He's better than Bottas for sure. The whole problem I think is that former champions can't deal with being #2.

You already answered your own post. He can't accept number 2, so he shouldn't be here. Pretty simple.
What? you expect Leclerc to play second fiddle to Vettel? after scoring more points, getting more poles and winning the qualifying battle?

I don’t know what to say in the first place Ferrari are to slow in the race like today. Yes vettel will be in 3 place if sf ...but with 20s behind. Slow corners are problem s2 in Brazil show that. If in this area Ferrari for 2020 will not improve will be 3 team behind Red Bull and Mercedes. But I’m optimistic because drive train of Ferrari is the best and for 2020 it is going to be even better. Only downforce ands aerodynamic must to improve and of course vettel- leclerk problem.

I would say Alonso is the best possible option to replace Vettel, if Ferrari wants to win a title before the new regulations step in. He can take championships to the wire with an inferior car, Vettel proved he can't.

Tifoso Svedese
17th November 2019, 19:37
The problem is at this race, he wasn't slower than Lerlerc but faster. Due to safety car, Leclerc has the gap to him erased and ended up with fresh soft behind him.

Also, the team should have pit Vettel at the safety car as well. He had so much time to the next car that he wouldn't have lost anything even with a long 10+ sec pit. It was a no brainer...

Big difference starting P2 and P14. Leclerc lost a lot of time battling through traffic and suffering on the hards. Their pace was rather equal, but Charles was the one having the fresher tyres and going forward. Seb needed to calm down and accept he was defeated. You can't race your team mate like you race other team's drivers. The whole problem is that he always opens the door to Hammy but races Charles like his life hung upon it.

Yes the quali is 11-9 in favor of Charles (Vettel could not take part in German quali or Hungary Q3, At Mexico Charles ended up front by virtue of Bottas crash)
On the other hand the races are 11-8 in favor of Vettel.

No, they wont accept being number 2 to each other which is normal. But what is expected is that they have to race without taking each other out.

Exactly. Lec had quali advantage, vettel in race. But both are competitive drivers not like Bottas or Albon who can do favours to their co-drivers.
Next season Lec/vettel both will push to the maximum if we get a strong car. But there should be an instruction not to fight against each other.

Red Bull might quite be the favorites at Abu Dhabi.

But I think one of Mercedes guys told that they were a bit disadvantaged here at high altitude because of the smaller compressor. They may be back to top at the last race.

Based on what exactly? I mean if we're playing this game. Leclerc's race wins could've been easily 5. He lost wins in Bahrain, Singapore and Russia without doing anything wrong.
Right now the point tally is: Lec 249-Vet 230, and today Vettel costed Leclerc an easy P2.

What we need is a clear no.1-2 policy, like Mercedes and Red Bull. And Leclerc is the obvious choice for the number 1 driver. And as you said, Vettel's ego is too for the number 2 role, so he shouldn't be in the team.

Nope, it's based on the Vettel-fanboy agenda. Leclerc had to move over for Vettel on few occasions, he also told not to attack Vettel in Australia.
And Vettel got ahead of Leclerc at Russia because of the pre-race team strategy where Leclerc ordered not to defend his pole position and give tow to Vettel.

Fact is: Leclerc 249-Vettel 230, with more wins and poles. You can say whatever you want, but it's not gonna change anything. Leclerc is the better driver, which is pretty impressive, considering this is his only 2nd year in F1 and first with Ferrari. (2014 was Ric's 4th year when he trashed Vettel)

Vettel should be sacked for what he did today.

If Vettel was Schumi (for example) you’d be embarrassed, but you’d let it go.

Vettel passed Leclerc on Russia way before they arrived at the corner. He got the best start of the front runners and the slipstream is physics, unavoidable. He was also faster in the race but in any case his engine expired and that race already goes to Leclerc.

At Australia first stint, they were racing in successive positions on the same tires. Vettel put a 10 sec gap to him in that stint. The only reason Leclerc came behind at the end of the race was that Vettel's tires were finished due to bad strategy nothing else...

Can't believe or accept what happened today, totally unnecessary and a mere tyre-to-tyre touch causes total loss and embarrassment for the team and drivers. Charles has now surely lost P3 in the WDC after Max's win, I don't believe we'll be very competitive in Abu Dhabi either, I always said that Honda would come back to haunt us and once again it was the wrong Merc that expired, but this season we tifosi have had to endure more than we deserve. Only bright light for me was an Alfa double points score.:furious:-E

Again, you have excluded the most important bit: "Leclerc did not defend his pole position", go watch the replay again.

And again, Lec 249- Vet 230, with Lec having more wins and poles. Everything else are excuses.

And yet again, I don't know why we're discussing past races. What Vettel did today was inexcusable, you should focus on that.

We will be competitive in UAE, definitely in qualifying and especially with Charles. He was pretty strong there last year in the Alfa + he dominated the race during his F2 season.

And as for Vettel, well....let's just say some of us who are criticizing Vettel, have been proven right once again.

and then you brought up some races and I answered.

As for the 249-230 Charles lost 10 points at Bahrain due to engine trouble. But Vettel lost a lot more at Russia or USA.

“Obviously if we look at our team we are really disappointed because the mistake the two drivers made cost us dearly,” Binotto told Sky Sports Italy.

“We will analyze what happened in the coming days. I don’t want to say it now because I haven’t watch everything yet, but both driver must understand that they damaged the race of Ferrari.

“The drivers were free to fight, but this is a costly mistake that damages the work of all the team.

“We are thinking about not doing the debriefing because we have to send a message to both drivers. I already spoke with them that these are accidents that can happen, but both drivers have responsibility.

“If next year we have two drivers fighting for the world title we would be happy and they would be free to fight, but in this situation? No.”

Great leadership, Mr. Binotto. Way to go.

Why did Ferrari not issue a team order to let Charles pass Seb immediately after SC ended? Leclerc was on fresh tires and could have challenged for 2nd, keeping him behind Seb was a giant mistake and Seb would never have kept Charles behind until the end, so it just ruined Charles chances as well. Binotto FAILED once again! Will Binotto ever learn? I dont think he will, I am not seeing any improvement on his managment on team orders. Ferrari wont be winning anything with him in charge. The guy cant make a decision during the race on what to do with team orders, not even this time when he had plenty of time to react. If we manage to get together a decent car, this will come back to bite us.

Vettel obviously was angry about getting the wrong call on the SC, and let his feelings do the driving, and let Ferrari pay the results! Beyond stupid.

The positives? That this happened this year with the championship already decided, and that maybe, just maybe Binotto and the drivers can learn something, even though the chance is very slim! Probably the best thing that could happen is if the exact same thing happens in the last race, that could maybe serve as the final wakeup call.

Make Leclerc the number one, and if it does not suit Vettel, he can take a hike! Vettel will get worse and Leclerc will improve not only with age, but with experience. if Binotto does not get that, or lack the balls to enforce it, then find someone who will!

Man....Vettel landed the dream opportunity at Ferrari, after RBR streak run of dominate cars ended and Webber got out, he got his rear totally beaten up by Ricciardo and it could have only gotten sourer from there, there were a lot of places he could have gone that would expose him a lot quicker and worst, he landed the best spot an F1 driver could in Formula 1, specially in his situation. The beating he took from Ricciardo was a big warning, but it wasn´t strong enough, only one year for many people to make the case that it was just a season, maybe was a fluke, lack of motivation ,etc. So that year basically got excused away...as if it did not happen.
Ferrari at the time received him as perhaps a new Schumacher and he was paired with Kimi, basically the best team mate any top driver can dream to have, the perfect team mate to make a driver feel good about themselves and raise their confidence. Then he got cars that were much better than Alonso got the seasons he was there.
Then Vettel got an extension to remain rated as a cream of the crop driver for another 5 years almost and keep the illusion going, thanks to Ferrari, had he stayed at RBR with Ricciardo/Verstappen, gone against Lewis in Mercedes, chances are, his status would have crashed much quicker than it did. Vettel should be incredibly thankful for Ferrari... For what they did to him these last 5 years.

But 2017 Singapore and now this!? there is no place for him at Ferrari. Pay him out and sign up Hulkenberg. Start 2020 with clear number 1-2 policy with Leclerc being the number 1.

After yesterday's race, i'm officially dissapointed with Vetel. You've made mistakes before , But yesterday's one was pathetic and embarrassing for a lot of Ferrari tifosi. I think you need to go!!!!

Hard to count on winning the WCC when you have one driver taking the other out. :lou

Same hard to think on the same when on you focus only on WDC. Then who would get WCC?

What I said in the first post of this thread proved right. Unfortunately. Now then, can it get worse? With Ferrari - yes, it can and it will. I am horrified to think what could get worse and cannot say it ... God forbid!!

I don't know how things are behind the scenes or what Binnotto's leadership style is, but a F1 team leader has to be a dictator.

If he says, 'let driver pass', there is no debate on the radio about this. It is done.

I believe this is how it works at Red Bull and Mercedes. No debating with the team leader. His job and responsibility is to make these decisions.

(1) Where on earth did that Red Bull get that straight line speed from ??? ( Is it altitude influenced ? ) coz man that was crazy stuff right there ( and disheartening at the same time for us ) :-(

(2) Did this FIA fuel mixture rule have an effect on our car ? ( it certainly appears so ) :Hmm

Answer is No...

If you look at Max pole at Mexico & Brazil. It suits their car & engine certain at type of tracks.
So RB & even TR was competitive on this track.

Coming to TD by FIA, ferrari didn’t loose anything they are still strongest on straight line.
In Mexico ferrari lost everything where DF was the key in one sector they are not able to make out lap time in the corners.

As the championship is done & dusted. Ferrari using last couple of races as next year design. In order to check which direction they should approach. Not only that they want to protect their tyres with more DF on the car.
Above are the two reasons which ferrari is working on with.

You can see the same in USA S2 & Brazil S2. Whey they are ahead of Mercs at times & below RB.
But still maintaining that straight line speed not as much as earlier due to more Wing which certainly effects top speed.

Lol.....So should I panic & make a mockery here ??? When you know season is done. Seen so many worst performances this isn’t anything bigger. Forgot Singapore GP? Malaysia GP spark plug issue, where we didn’t start at all.
Forgot Sochi ? These are latest.

It’s not my duty to make you believe in blind support. Everyone do have an opinion. Likewise I do have.
You said driver should be worthy of support. Where were you when Kimi returned to ferrari & was not performing to the expectations?? But still went ahead & served for us long time. The same goes with massa?

Later when ferrari started to produce strong cars Kimi & vettel (this is the best team pair I’ve seen for long time after schumi & bar) they started to perform better.

Now that we have two strong drivers so there will be internal battle. It’s not a rocket since.
We’ve seen Ham-Alonso, Max-ric, Ham-Ros etc...

Simple conclusive statement, Lec is making vettel look ordinary that’s it. Where vettel is not able to take pressure.
The same might go for ham if there’s a competitive team along side him then only we can know who is true champion.
Neither ham & vettel drove alongside with strong team-mates to become champions.

If Lec claims title next year, I would rate him a deserving champion because he had competitive team mate who is a 4time WDC.

Looking at the flow of Ferrari set-up from past couple of races they trying to add more DF & see the direction.
So I wouldn’t be surprised if they go with same philosophy/set-up to protect their tyres in the race.
Let’s see, a win or 1-2 finish would give us good ending to the season.

If you panic and make a mockery, you’ll be doing what Vettel did with a handful of laps left.

No one’s panicking here, because everyone knows we have a driver who can win and contend for a championship, and it’s not Vettel. We are just concerned that his teammate is going to take him out now.

In Sochi, he didn’t follow orders and probably overcooked his engine trying to stay away from Leclerc.

In Singapore, Leclerc followed orders, Vettel was swapped into first, and gifted a win so Ferrari could have a 1-2. If Vettel was actually faster and deserved to win, he would have came in second. That was Ferrari’s victory, not Vettel’s.

There’s a lot of criticism in this forum off late.
Initially, When I started to watch this forum during race weekends something made me excited to be a part of it. I was keen to join & post my views. But didn’t register myself until 2014.

When I started my journey along with my co-members of this forum, with their posts or views I started to learn more technical about the car & driver skill etc. which there by pushed me to analyse few things with my little technical knowledge & was able to post here. But from the past couple of years I see, there is such negitivity against the driver who doesn’t perform to their expectations even though he’s still bounded to Ferrari team & we say were are Tifosi.
There’s a group here who target them & tag others as “you are a fan boy of him” etc ...even though he’s not such.
It’s gone to such extent that there’s personal abuse going on.

Neither I do have interest in all these things nor abuse anyone personally.
I pity for @mwk now how he left, though he’s still watching our forum. Even @Jgonzalezsm6 was very active on this forum earlier . Everyone became limited. I feel it’s the time to call myself off.
