I guess its high time we sign back Felipe. We saw how at a circuit where drivers matter more than the car.. Felipe drove like a racer and someone like Sergio showed that he has a little more time before he is signed with Ferrari.

He just now needs to improve qualifying. I miss the days where he would just pop a beastly lap in. I think he can get back to those days, so go on Felipe!!

That Senna overtake was just brilliant.

You could of knocked me down with a feather when I read this on Planet F1
To praise a Ferrari driver and one they have been deriding for so long??????-----some on the forum wanted to give him driver of the day!!!!!!!
    What's happening am I really on PF1????????

    Overtaking Move of the Race
Lap 43: Felipe Massa, Ferrari, on Bruno Senna, Williams
On most race afternoons a dawdling, puncture-enforced return to the pits on the opening lap would mean a grand prix spent checking out Marussia and Caterham rear wings and waiting to see what bizarre extreme strategy your team was going to throw at you - and then getting lapped and a dismal finish in the late teens. But P24 was no barrier to Felipe in Singapore, especially when two Safety Cars brought him back in contact with the rest of the gang to claim P8.

He had the advantage of fast, Super Soft tyres when he came upon Bruno Senna in P9 on Lap 43 and despite Senna going defensive through a succession of corners, Felipe stuck it up the inside going from Turn 12. When Bruno Senna moved across to the barrier to take his normal racing line, he found a Ferrari in between him and the Tecpro and the two made brief contact. Felipe kept his foot in, corrected a snap wobble and made the pass into Turn 13, a place where no-one overtakes.

The best bit, though, was the replay of an open-mouthed Rob Smedley watching him from the pratt stand and slowly shaking his head. Unfortunately there's no Geordie equivalent of "Bravissimo!" which Fernando gets from Andrea Stella. "Worrr, get in there my son!" isn't quite so classy.

We apologize for the interruption, but please be advised that those who called for the sacking of Felipe have been sacked.

    Please continue with the discussion.

Yep. Races aren't a worry at all. If he could just qualify better he'd be right up there at the end.
Never thought I'd be so happy with an 8th place but I am still on a post-race high. Love seeing him so fiery.

8 place was like a win considering how far Massa dropped due to first corner accident and he had limp back to the pits. He charged through the field like a raging bull

Too bad his tires were done by the time he caught up with Grosj but then fighting with Grosj is never a good thing anyway.

Rob Smedley didn't look very impressed by the goings on. I think he was wondering what Senna was doing. I didn't think so at the time but looking back at it, Senna could have drawn a penalty for that. He didn't leave a car's width for Massa. I think that's what the new rules says.

The Swiss newspaper Blick is saying that it's done, Felipe will stay. They wrote it like it was official already, but it's not yet, so maybe they have insider info.

Yes, it's done. Felipe will stay.

If I need to get 500 autographs for support from Ferrari owners around Asia to Maranello, consider it done

Ferrari, LdM; please renew Massa's contract.

I think he will be staying, as he says there really is nobody much better, Perez again shows he can be very hit or miss and seems to only really impress on less technical tracks.

FERRARI SET TO ANNOUNCE MASSA FOR 2013 - REPORT
Tuesday 25 September at 07:35 : Sep.25 (GMM) Ferrari is set to announce that Felipe Massa is staying with the famous Italian team in 2013.

Intense speculation has surrounded the future of the Brazilian, who since 2010 has struggled to shine alongside his highly rated teammate Fernando Alonso.

But in an article by veteran correspondent Roger Benoit, the Swiss newspaper Blick said the 31-year-old is staying put in the wake of his recent form surge.

"It (2013) will be his eighth season in red," wrote Benoit.

In Singapore last weekend, Alonso publicly backed Massa, deriding the "little names" that had been linked with his place for next season.

"With all the names you hear, if you compare what Felipe has done and what these little names have done ..." he said.

"In my opinion we need to have a driver that respects Ferrari, that respects the tradition that here we work for the team, for the red cars," added Alonso.

Beginning to think there won't be any driver changes next year at all, Felipe will stay where he is, as will Lewis, Schumacher, Perez et al...

If thats true, I will go celebrate on behalf of Massa once its signed off

Agree on the Alonso part, Alonso has been backing Massa for weeks now. No secret there.

24th to 8th @ Spore was a brilliant drive. The last 2 races, Massa did extremely well too.

Hope its sign off soon, so that Massa can concentrate and do well for the rest of the season and onwards

    Ferrari... sign him
