    SPEED has gotten ridiculous, anyway.

Despise NBC, but at least all the races will be on 1 channel.

Something is wrong in that we can't even get an American into a car.

Miller said the intent is to broadcast everything live, but the network is working through a small number of scheduling conflicts. All 20 races will be live streamed on NBC Sports Group's live-stream platform."

I love football (American) actually. I used to play in high school. Only a few games are played every year, so it's high stakes. Plus you need large attachments to play, a lot like driving a race car. Baseball on the other hand, and to a lesser extent basketball, play so many games that every game is almost meaningless.

Anyways, do we know who the announcers will be? Also it would be cool if they get to travel to the actual race location, instead of watching a monitor in "South Carolina".

It might be selfish of me but I do wish NBC all the luck and hope they
deliver for us because it means I can give up the Comcast "Sports Package"
which costs me a lot monthly just to watch F1 on SPEED as I follow no other
sport that is part of that package.

Leigh Diffey, David Hobbs and Steve Matchett.

There was talk that perhaps Will Buxton will also join them.

    lol first world problem.

This would have been a big issue if we are living in 1990s, but with the Internet, you can watch everything live online.

    +1

Bob Varsha is the man. I really can't stand Diffey. I hope Will gets a job there, but there are rumblings he may be going to Indy Car. That would be upsetting. enjoy following him on Twitter. He was very emotional at the last broadcast thanking SPEED for giving him the opportunity and how he would miss it greatly.

Watching most of the Euro and Middle Eastern races live, at 8:00 AM, has been perfect for me. I watch F1 from 8-10, with Live Timing on my PC, and have the rest of the day free. If NBC delays the broadcast until the afternoon, I'll just watch it live on the internet and Live Timing.

Is there rumors they will be on tape delay!??! I thought they were going to broadcast live on NBC Sports. I hope they don't do delay, it's such a pain because I have to consciously not open my ESPN F1 app on my phone or else I'll see the winner and then the race is not as fun knowing the outcome. I find it fun waking up at 2am when they have the Asian races to watch live. It is like a ritual, brew the coffee, makes some eggs and enjoy!

And I agree, having the live timing up on the PC is the way to go. So much more information than they can give on the broadcast.

I also hope they do something on the NBC Sports website like SPEED did with the Austin GP this year and have onboard cams for select cars streaming online. I know SKY has that option in Europe and I think it would be awesome to have Alonso and Massa's onboard streaming the whole time.

I feel sorry for you guys who may now not be able to get live races, here in the UK I felt the same when BBC and Sky shared the coverage and we lost half of the live races unless subscribing to Sky, at a cost. But now I've just read a comment in a UK magazine suggesting that Luca/Ferrari sign a US driver in 2014, presumably by getting rid of Felipe, in order to raise the F1 profile in the US. I am so annoyed that this well-respected F1 correspondent implies that Felipe will be dumped for 2014, irrespective of his 2013 performance, before the season even starts. I also assume that there are many US-based Massa fans, so the suggestion of Marco Andretti as a 2014 Ferrari driver doesn't for the moment hold much water!:xmasfrown:

That is interesting. I don't think Marco will be of a high enough caliber but he did have quite a few strong performances in Indy Car this year. That being said, and despite appreciating what Massa has done in the past, I would much rather have a fellow Italian-American of the storied Andretti family driving for The Scuderia, if and only if he had the speed to do so competitively.

I've seen nothing about the races being delayed other than the 4 mid-season as usual, but that's only because Bernie wants them done that way.

NBC is promising coverage better than what we had at SPEED, they already have as far as I'm concerned because they are going to stream them live as well as the usual network broadcast.

I take your point as I'm all in favour of an Italian-connected driver in our team, I was just incensed that there was already talk of Felipe being the fall guy if a US driver was hired to manipulate the US interest in F1. I'm English but for some reason I feel as if I'm Italian (no connection whatsoever except that I spent 8 months there in the '70s), and I'd say I'm a Veneziano or Padovano!

Why the need to show 4 races taped delayed? They could show the USGP, Canadian GP, and Brazilian GP live, and at a good time for main NBC network. Next year they could include the New Jersey GP too.

    Try 4:30AM

    Anyone have the schedule?

What channel is it on DirecTV?

Here is the schedule (still would like to know the corresponding channels on DirecTV...and I guess DISH and COMCAST for those who have that).

    http://scores.nbcsports.msnbc.com/na...p?series=FORM1

Oddly, this shows US times for the actual race, probably not the coverage. At least it does show the channel.

I am really excited for F1 on NBC Sports network. I believe they will be showing most if not all races live. As well as all practice sessions. They are also live streaming all races on their website. Follow Will Buxton and Leight Diffey on Twitter. They give teasers now and then.

What is great is that I was watching a national broadcast of Penguins Flyers and they had an epic F1 commercial for the season and Melbourne. Link below. Bringing F1 to a mainstream network is awesome for F1 in the USA.

I like this move! With Leigh Diffey, David Hobbs and Steve Matchett they have a very entertaining team of broadcasters. Now all they need to do is get the "Wee Scot" to joint their team. Then we would really entertained even more.

    Ciao,

Live online streams are the way to go to watch F1 anyways. I'm speaking for a minority here but the live Speed broadcast was blacked-out in Canada. So this doesn't make much difference for us. But overall IMO I think it's a positive for F1 as it will expose the sport to a larger fan-making audience. I say fan-making because the average american is more likely to tune in to NBC rather than SpeedTV. We'll know if it's working if they resign a future contract.
