Tickets for the Fernando Alonso exhibition are now on sale

It will be the first time the Formula 1 driver’s collection is on show
The cars he has raced throughout his career will be exhibited
Madrid, 24 of June of 2013 – As of today tickets for the Fernando Alonso exhibition, organized by the Community of Madrid and Canal Isabel II Management along with the driver’s foundation, can be purchased in advance. It will be the first time the cars, overalls and trophies amassed by the Asturian, who is the only Spaniard to have won the Formula 1 World Championship on two occasions, will be on show.

The exhibition will open its doors to the public in December and tickets can be purchased at www.fernandoalonsocollection.com

Visitors of the exhibition will journey, via a route in the Centro Arte Canal hall in Plaza Castilla, through the sporting career of Fernando Alonso, starting off with his first overall which was hand sewn by his mother for his first competition at the age of 3, and finishing off with the last trophy that the driver will achieve from here to the end of 2013. Many of the cars that the Spanish driver has raced with throughout his career will be on display; from his first kart to his racing cars from 1999 to 2011, a period in which Fernando raced for Minardi, Renault, McLaren and Ferrari, his current team. Also, amongst cars, overalls, boots, helmets or gloves, visitors will have an opportunity to get to know other interesting aspects of the Spanish driver and the sport he lives in.

Besides, children and youths will have the chance to test their knowledge on road safety thanks to various activities programmed in the same hall. With this initiative, the Fernando Alonso Foundation joins forces with the Canal de Isabel II Management to continue with its work of raising awareness and educating younger people regarding this subject.

THE COMMUNITY OF MADRID WILL HOST THE FIRST EXPOSITION OF FERNANDO ALONSO’S SPORTING CAREER

Madrid, 13 of March of 2013 – The Fernando Alonso Foundation and Canal de Isabel II Management will organize together an exposition on the sporting career of the two-time Formula 1 World Champion. The showing, which will be exhibited at the Centro de Exposiciones Arte Canal in Madrid towards the end of 2013 and that will be made up of karts, racing cars, trophies and other objects from Alonso’s private collection which are extremely valuable to the Spanish driver, will enable visitors to get a closer look into the exclusive world of Formula 1 and motor sport, whilst also attracting an important number of national and international tourists to Madrid. Apart from the exposition, which is the first to take place worldwide, different activities regarding road safety for children will take place, this being the main focus of the Foundation presided by Scuderia Ferrari’s Spanish driver.

Visitors of the exhibition will journey, via a route in the Centro de Exposiciones Arte Canal in Plaza Castilla, through the sporting career of Fernando Alonso, starting off with his first overall which was hand sewn by his mother for his first competition at the age of 3, and finishing off with the last trophy that the driver will achieve from here to the end of 2013.

Besides this exclusive and unprecedented exhibition, which will join the many other attractives which Spain already offers and, more precisely, the Community of Madrid, in order to promote tourism kids will be able to test their knowledge regarding road safety thanks to the diverse activities programmed in the same exhibition hall. With this initiative, the Fernando Alonso Foundation will join forces with the Canal de Isabel II to continue with its work of raising awareness and educating younger people regarding this subject.

The fact that the Fernando Alonso Foundation has selected the Centro de Exposiciones de Arte Canal hall to exhibit this exclusive showing confirms the consolidation of this exposition area as a national and international reference.

Centro de Exposiciones de Arte Canal
Arte Canal, Canal de Isabel II Management’s exhibition hall, located next to the Plaza de Castilla in Madrid, was inaugurated in 2004 with the exposition “Xi’an Warriors” and more than 2.5 million people have visited in that time.

The hall takes up half of the first of the four modules of the Canal de Isabel II’s fourth buried deposit in Madrid, and it is a structure from the first half of the 20th century, with a capacity for 141,000 cubic metres of water. Located nine metres underground with regards to the Parque de Plaza de Castilla, and five metres in relation to the paseo de la Castellana, it has a surface area of over 4,700 square metres, distributed between the mezzanine, which is made up of 1,200 square metres, and the ground floor which covers 3,500 square metres, of which 2,000 square metres correspond to the exposition area.

I would love to be able to go and see it.

A shame he does not have a Red Championship winning car yet in the collection.

Normally aspirated F1 engines never had 1000 Bhp. At most V10 is around 850 up to 890. Even in the golden age of V12 they never had 1000 Bhp!

That Renault V10 had about 980 horsepower.

It can have a moose head on the bonnet as long as it's as fast as that 2005 McLaren. That thing was just scary. Luckily, the reliability was close to zero, but, damn, it was another masterclass by Newey.

Nice pictures but can't locate a Ferrari. And seeing those Renaults only bring bad memories.

Not quite Maranello, is it? Is Fernando trying to prove the point that there's a gaping hole where his championship-winning Ferrari should be? And as fratelliferrari pointed out, there's no such thing as a beautiful Red Bull,Mclaren or Renault!

No, that is something YOU may never know for sure, because it sure doesn't apply to me.

But, really, you can make a quick calculation and see that those engines have to get close to 1000 horsepower:

Current V8 running at 18000 RPM produce between 730 and 750 horsepower. Let's take the baseline at 730.

Adding two more cylinders means a linear increase in power by 25%, taking that figure to 912 horsepower at 18000 RPM.

Increasing the RPM to 20000 - as the V10s were running at - yields another 11% increase in power for a total of 1012 horsepower.

    There, that wasn't hard.

Instead a picture of Petrow is there ...
and part of Kimi's front wing of Suzuka

with the sign: here should be located a Ferrari - BUT ...
"If I was driving for Red Bull [from 2008] probably I would have more championships, but because they were dominating between 2010 and 2014 probably I would never have driven for Ferrari. I am very happy and very proud to drive for Ferrari, all my time there.

I appreciate your effort to prove the point, but still I don't think it is that easy and that straight forward .

Those Renaults reminds of Tim Densham. IMO he is a great designer and he is still with Renault (Lotus)
