    Fernando in RAI's telethon

Fernando was last night in a charity event on RAI supporting a kind named Tommaso, the kid has spinal muscular atrophy. He already met the kid in Maranello sometime ago as you can see in the video below.

21:26 He takes the word Antonella Clerici. "I love the sport in all its forms," he says, to introduce the little Thomas fan of Formula 1.

21:30 For Thomas behind the scenes there Ferdinando Alonso. A clip showing the history of the child.

21:38 Riding a radio-controlled toy car, enters Alonso, who gives the toy to your child. "We play at home," says the pilot. "We make her leave?" Replied the child. And you play.

21:40 "The real courage is to those who face the everyday life of the many difficulties," says Alonso. "I can run fast as long as I want, but I will never beat the strength and courage of Thomas and his parents."

21:43, "Thomas said you have to win the next World Cup, there is here also Montezemolo," reminds Clerici. But Thomas wants to play, the answer is late.

In Spain there are many Alonso haters, some because they say him was arrogant when win their firsts championships, others are simply local nationalist and consider Alonso a representative of Spain...but I have always know Alonso is a great guy and a honorable and clean competitor, his problem was he don't have a good relationship with the press, this problem has been fixed now giving known himself through the social networks. And seeing things like this video, you realize that Alonso has a great heart.

    Bravo Alonso, you never disappoint!

(And thanks for the video, steferrari! :xmaswink: )

Thanks for the video, really emotional, Fernando was awesome but the kid was the star, I hope he has a nice life taking into account his problems.

Fernando did something like this for a girl in Oviedo this year, sadly the girl died. Let's hope Tommaso future is brighter.

Fantastic to see Fernando taking part and you could see the caring connection with Tommaso. Also Luca and Fernando put to bed all those stupid rumours of friction between the to of them.

Amazing Fernando. This really tells about him human qualities. I think I recall him being a UNICEF ambassador too.

A really emotional video, filled with Christmas spirit. Tommaso is such a great kid, wish him all the best for the future.

It's absolutely wonderful that Ferrari is constantly involved in all kinds of charities, it makes this great company even more great. And it was fantastic to see Luca and Fernando together there smiling and embracing.

Thanks for sharing this nice video!

Oh btw, does anyone know how much money did they manage to collect in the end?

This is so heart-warming at a time of the year when everyone takes what they have for granted. For Fernando to make little Tommaso's life a little bit better, and in such a genuine way, speaks volumes. Grazie for sharing steferrari, it sounds even more sincere in Italian. Forza Tommaso!

It's a bit soon yet to be imagining what Fernando will do when he retires from F1, but watching something like this makes me think that he won't be sitting back nursing his millions but will try to continue to do something that makes his life a 'good' one.
His relationship with Tommaso and his parents can't be forced just because they're in front of a camera, certainly not the little boy's reactions. Thanks Stefarri.

Yes I got the same feeling as you about Fernando! I also think Felipe will be very busy with charity after he retires from F1!
