I don't like him and wouldn't be very happy if he did come to Ferrari! Why? Because he
and his entire entourage have done their level best to create an aura of "genius" around
him, that is frankly overrated, as far as I'm concerned. I say that because I don't see him
a "rounded" driver, by that I mean, when push comes to shove, he hasn't yet proven he
can help develop a car, he hasn't proven he's a team player, let alone a leader. Granted,
with a steering wheel in his hand, he's talented; but, without hard work and the breaks he
got, he'd not be driving for a top flight team who nursed him basically from training wheels.
Everything about him smacks of a fairytale, and last time I heard pumpkins don't turn into
carriages and frogs don't turn into princes!!

p.s. I find it fascinating that a word that means "any" kind of intolerance/animosity towards
"anything" different is being MISused interchangeably with the word "racist".

@Tech_Skill: Yes, the comments there are pretty sad, but generally in all kinds of videos and not just Hamilton.
I agree, I appreciate the blunt honesty, at that point in time it seems like he greatly disliked the situation (can't blame him because it really felt he was fighting for the championship against Schumy AND the FIA).

his 2007 actions, you'll have to remind me what was so bad compared to other drivers?

in 2007 I can remember ferrari fans moaning at the beginning of the season about McLaren favouring Alonso with team orders and cheeting Lewis on to beat Alonso. This "2007" seems like an imaginary stick to beat to give yourselfs some validation.
Yes, they are all a bit arrogant, although I feel it goes Hamilton > Schumy > Alonso > Vettel in terms of arrogance. I was just mentioning the list of his perceived flaws, not saying others were free of fault.
Regarding 2007, the Hamilton's did denounce TWICE their own team to the FIA to get Hamilton's teammate and team punished, once in Monaco and the second in Hungary, where Hamilton was also the first to break the gentlemans agreement within the team of taking turns taking the extra qualifying lap. It's a conveniently "swept under the carpet" fact that Hamilton acted against Alonso twice before he answered, yet he is still the 2007 villian.

Anyway, better not get into race or 2007 debates, they always turn nasty.

Personally, I would prefer to follow Kubica or Vettel after Alonso retires, but I'm inclined to value Hamilton as the better driver.

Got any evidence of that? I remember Lewis being interviewed after the race and fia taking it up on their own due to that

the thing, yes use that as a stick to beat Lewis, but then you could very easily find similar things to beat the others with, unfortunatly that would be correct on here as it might find the hate to be with little foundation.

but, without hard work and the breaks he

Unfortunatly it wasn't handed on a silver plate as you seem to make out, but hey it sounds good. At one point he was dropped by McLaren and was going to join Williams but was blocked by BMW. Also you don't think Vettel, ALonso and others had great help?

There are only two things I dislike about F1 these days, people who hate any particular driver and Lewis Hamilton.

Being completely honest, I recognise he is a very talented and fast driver, I just find him a bit too full of himself and self congratulatory, and I don't find him interesting to listen to when he talks. I don't hate him just find him a bit smug and smarmy really.

I can recognise when he puts in an excellent performance and applaud that, but as for supporting him....no I don't think so.

yeah, but at the same time don't you think he's a bit too "Try-hard"? ok.. like in FP2 yesterday. he was able to split the bulls, credit where it's due.. he is talented, but he's like a "panto villain"

    hate is a strong word.

but if Lewis came to Ferrari, he would have to get his points infirst half of the year because hell end up bottling it in the scond half

one thing. if Fernando beats him, which imo he will do, Mamilton groupies will be calling for Stefanos head, like they are doing right now with Whitmarsh.

apparently, Whitmarsh is favouring Button, by not favouring Lewis, if that makes any sense.

these are people id rather Ferrari annoy, rather than support ferrari

Alot of hamilton fans are WUM's, i dont like em but to fair, there are a fair few WUM's on here too.

A far as Hamilton vs Alonso, there is hardly anything between them, it could go either way. I will say one thing, apparently in 2007 Alonso finished ahead of lewis in more races than lewis finished ahead of him, I think the score was 10-7 to alonso or something, thats something the hamilton WUM's dont mention.

All this stuff about ''Hamilton is full of himself'' blah blah........ ferrari need to be about WINNING, its a place for the very best drivers, if you are one of the very best, you deserve to be at Ferrari, Hamilton is a winner love him or hate him and Ferrari know this....they arent stupid, If alonso left tomorrow an hamilton was available, ferrari would sign him hands down.....if you give lewis the car, he will win races, simple as that and I would like to think Ferrari put winning before who is ful of themselves and who isnt.

just had a thought. we are allowed 3 cars.

so after Alonso retires and Massaretires,

we have Vettel in car 1 Hamilton in car 2 and Kubica in car 3.

we would pretty much be guaranteed the titles, and it would be epic.

""I consider Lewis one of the top three drivers at the moment, the fastest drivers," Domenicali said." THE HELL???He's joking right? If not, then he just lost all credibility. This is why he must step down or better - kicked out.

So you are saying Lewis is not a fast driver? You will find Luca Di probably shares that opinion as will most F1 fans, I guess you have a different view, so who is your top 3 current drivers?

Rosberg, Vettel, Webber, Kobayashi, Massa is a clear top 5. Lewis is rated high cos of constant worshiping in a press. His results are quite good but that is cos he was no1 driver in a top team since day one. All those in my top 5 have proven themselves in slower teams and as no2 drivers. When car is good and team isn't favoring somebody else, they drive superbly!

*quick edit* just to avoid confusion, I didn't mention Alonso cos he signed long term contract with us and Kubica cos he's not driving this year. So if you want, count them in and Lewis won't get into top7 :)

See you can have an opinion just like Stefano, without your need to rant about his credibility or kicking him out, I think your credibility is taking a massive hit though

When did Massa prove himself in a slower car? He sucked at Sauber in all honesty.

"sucked" quite the same as Kobayashi now :) . Blame the car, not the drivers.

No need to blame the car, Alonso stood out in a Minardi, Michael stood out in a Jordan etc etc etc

@ 47 -Will Buxton on SPEED this morning reported that there is a "very strong rumor" in the paddock that Ferrari has already signed Kubica for next season. But Luca saying just last week that "Massa has a contract and will be at Ferrari next season" sort of throws a kink in that rumor. But I think they also said the same thing about Kimi and we know what happened there. The thought is, if this is true, that Kubica had signed before his crash, and now Massa has a reprieve for next season, with speculation that Kubica will not be ready next year, if ever.

I think we moved on from this one too fast.
If Robert K recovered and was ready to drive for 2013 (regardless of whether or not he'd been signed for 2012) then all bets are off

    That's my preferred option

I don't remember those years I am watching F1 fulltime since 1997, can you describe what happened at the end of 2005 when Schumacher signed for Ferrari?

I am sure every good driver will once driver for Ferrari. In the future I am expecting Hamilton and also Vettel drive for Ferrari.

cant help think how this year would have been with Kimi at Ferrari or Red Bull (in Mark's place) or even Macca (in Jenson's place)...that would have made for some really awesome racing.

why??? if you support the team, then doesnt matter who drives as long as he deliver us points and drive with the passion and desire for Ferrari.

Honestly, if he does join us great, if he doesnt, dont matter.

Honestly? I'm not sure what annoys me more about him...
His "I'm Mr. Hollywood" Attachment 4227 or his "snot nosed kid" attitude... Attachment 4226

p.s. I realize these aren't the most flattering pictures of him; but, I couldn't resist sharing them, especially in
light of all the negative comments some pictures of Kimi and Schumi have garnered from his so-called fans.

    Mea culpa!!
