    Ferrari's Diffuser and Floor Update::

    BBC F1 technical analyst Gary Anderson:

    "The Ferrari has a new floor, not just the diffuser. There are two areas that work together - including the tea tray under the cockpit at the front connecting with the the leading edge of the sidepods. That acts like a little diffuser in its own right, accelerating the air under the car, and then there is the diffuser at the back. You have to make those two parts work together hand in hand. It may be they have developed the tea tray and it may be they have developed the diffuser, but it is a huge one-part component because the airflow is so criticial."

    @ Kyss4k Yes but that wasn't here no? My happiness was merely because we did P1, which hasn't happened in some time And yes, i know this is FP, and the times aren't all that important.

    Ferrari haven't been within 0.8s of the pace in FP1 previously this year. At the moment Alonso is fastest by 0.37s. #F1

    It's early to say but we never before this season had the luxury to post P1 on Fridays!

    What would want Ferrari to win from setting best times in FP1?

    Ferrari rarely chases headline times on friday but we're not seeing anywhere near the true pace of the whole field in this session

    Force India with merc engine behind the Ferrai both with DRS open and thegap betwen the 2 cars seemd to remain constant as in the force India did not close the gap on the straigt...that looks like we have made an improvement on the straights (top speed)

    Let's be cautious at what we see.... still early to tell where we are at the moment compare to the rest of the pack

    So far... So good... So what?
    Let's not get over excited. One who flies high, hits the ground heavily!
    I am waiting for qualifications to get over and than I will convinced that updates are working.

    Ste, could you please pin point the differences between the new & old Diffuser?

    Its no over excitement, its just a relief we don't have to celebrate finishing in the points.

    Nthing would be won by setting good times in FP1 but boost confidence of the team and as we know Ferrai never never never go for times on FP1 infact they don't go for it till FP3......that in itself speaks volumes about our competetiveness this weekend.....touch wood....hope i dont Jinx the team by praising them too much
