KEEP CALM AND LOVE FERRARI
It is brought up here in every possible chance. I understand people have opinions and such but it seems odd that people talk the talk but don't walk the walk ie. The Team is brought up in just about every other post but when The Team makes a decision who they will hire there's constant bitching about it. "He's here just for the money." "He walked away with our money." "He has to redeem himself." "I hate him." "I hate his fans."
And you want me to leave?
"Leave the gun. Take the cannoli."
I read the forums often as I'm a huge fan, but I'm not able to contribute because I just don't have the time anymore.
I agree that people should be respectful with the team/drivers and avoid insulting.
Kimi and Alonso are both great drivers, each one has their faults, but the thing I hate most in sports are fanatics.
And after all this is Ferrari, we love the drivers, but we love the car even more.
If you can't contribute without having to make a snide remark or use insults maybe this is the wrong forum for you...
just an opinion.

Kimi Raikkonen's return could re-energise Ferrari
In years to come will Ferraris rehiring of Kimi Raikkonen be remembered as a triumph, a bold move that heralded a return to former glories?

Or will it be remembered as a disaster, a relationship that ended in tears for a second time in the space of a few seasons? I cannot say for certain but it is going to be fascinating finding out.
One thing I do know, having worked with Kimi, is that what you see is very much what you get. He is cool, unflappable and completely apolitical. He just does not get involved in all of the paddock conspiracy stuff.
Like Felipe Massa at the moment, Kimi will get on with the job at hand and not rock the boat. He did not rock the boat in 2008 and 2009 when Felipe started to get on top of him.
Kimis ice-cool demeanour should not be mistaken for a lack of desire, though. He did not leave Ferrari on the best of terms in 2010, having lost his way somewhat, but he is older and wiser now after two years out in the World Rally Championship. And he is still extremely quick.
The question is will Fernando Alonso rock the boat if Kimi starts to push him close, or even beat him? I dont think so.
A lot of people refer back to Fernandos time at McLaren in 2007, and cite that season as proof that he is liable to throw his toys out of the pram if he does not get his way.
I disagree. I believe Fernando lost his cool because he felt destabilised and betrayed by the fact that McLaren did not deliver on promises made, rather than because a rookie Lewis Hamilton was challenging him.
In my opinion, Fernando is the complete driver and will raise his game with Kimi there for the next two seasons, which is a worry for everyone else.
Ross Brawn might say that Mercedes have the strongest pairing in Lewis and Nico Rosberg.
Red Bull principal Christian Horner might try to claim that Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo is the best line-up. But on paper at least, no one can compete with Fernando and Kimi.
I happen to think the new engine package will largely determine who wins next year, but with James Allison and Rory Byrne back on the technical side, and Kimi and Fernando in the cockpit, Ferrari are starting to look very strong.

Some claims about the Kimi signing from my Maranello source that provides me with Ferrari team clothing:
Ironicly Alonso himself was one of the reasons Ferrari signed Raikkonen. Ferrari had long been negotiating with Hulkenbergs agent, but when Kimis talks with Red Bull broke down, Kimis camp contacted Ferrari.
Di Montezemolo is said to be fed up with Alonsos attitude towards the team lately and by signing Kimi he "put Alonso in his place" and showed who is really in charge of Ferrari. As we all know Luca publicy rebuked Fernando some weeks ago.
Alonsos manager is said to have been contact about a Red Bull deal, but that did not plan out. Alonso is said to have been initially furious with Kimis arrival, he much wanted Massa to stay. But has since calmed down and decided to play it cool towards the media and not show his true feelings publicly.
About Raikkonens return:
Raikkonen demanded that Di Montezemolo should apologize to him for his harsh words when Kimi was "bought out" and also admit Ferrari took the wrong decision to get rid of Kimi that time. Montezemolo has done that and further more acknowledged that Ferrari has absolutely no problems whatsoever working with Kimi during his last stay at the Scuderia. Luca claims the media made up false rumours about Kimi not working well within the team.
Please note I have no idea if this is actually true, just passing on the information I have received.
"Lewis the car is bad, we know, please drive it!" - Toto Wolff after 52 laps of constant Hamilton whining on the radio! (Austria GP, 2023)
Let's go...Kimi Kimi Kimi Kimi Kimi!(Ala Gimme Gimme by Beenie Man)
Can't wait for 2014,a fresh start for Ferrari ie. new engine, rules etc.
Forza Ferrari!
KEEP CALM AND LOVE FERRARI
It seems to me that both Ferrari and Kimi have decided to leave the past in the past, and look forward to a new partnership. Personally I am taking the same approach and looking at this as a new beginning.
We will eventually find out how Fernando and Kimi perform against each other anyway - should be very exciting.![]()
So here we are, a most exciting time for Ferrari, Factory restorations, new driver and designers.
New rules, new cars, what should be an exciting time for Ferrari fans.
I didnt realize there were so few actual Ferrari fans, and so many driver fans...its like 2 huge land masses
coming together....the earth is moving....and now we are looking at a really great driver lineup, and youse
guys want to fight about...hmm...Im not sure...
Is it mandatory, if youre a Kimi fan to hate Alonso ?? Is it mandatory to hate Kimi if youre an Alonso fan?
I think this is an exciting time for Ferrari..2 WDC's driving together for the Prancing Horse...and I may add..they are
both absolute killer racers.
Im very excited, yet sad on the Felipe front.... time stands still for no one... to be a Ferrari fan
is a never ending, enjoyable ride.
There, I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents, amid the chaos, fighting and general craziness this news has brought.
Funny thing is, both Alonso and Kimi are probably very good friends who hold a great deal of respect for each other...
yet they will drive the wheels off to beat each other...wow, exciting times coming...lets hope the FIA can get the rules
back to where we have actual...real...racing and not some spec series, look alike, sound alike doped up cars that merely resemble
what Formula 1 actualy stands for...Forza Ferrari.
+1 for Nova post!
Things won't change if the red car isn't as fast as the Red Bull single seater. I wonder if Kimi could be just a smoke screen after so many rumours on the 2014 project.
Nova, if Kimi is such a great racing driver, which I think he is, why Luca didn't keep him in the team in 2010? Work ethics, passion... It was either a mistake in 2010 or now.
Well I don't think most people hate Kimi. It's just that in his previous stint with Ferrari, many fans were left disappointed by his performance. So for me, I just need some convincing that he's a different driver now. Of course come next year, I will support him as a Ferrari driver and I do hope he will perform better than when he left us. For now, I'm just not a fan of this decision, to let go of Massa and bring Kimi in.
Speaking of next year, someone posted an article where Luca said next year we may see driver conserving fuel. I hope we can squeeze in some racing between the conservative engine rules and whatever Pirelli do with the tires next season, lol.
Why is media so negative about KR driving alongside FA?!?!? Everywhere I go and read some article about it, it is all down to:
- It is not wise and good move by Ferrari
- KR and FA will not get along good
- They will take each out points
- .....
I hope they are just jealousy, and writing such thing from sheer frustration. Also I so hope Ferrari will make next years car so good, and made all those who wrote such things to eat their words!
