I'm sure Alonso could've held 3rd place if he went a bit harder...but not worth risking it since he'll move up couple of places in the first lap anyway

Good effort from our guys, lets hope for a dry race tomorrow as i think we stand a better chance on dry rather wet , taking into consideration tyre degradation and our FP performance.

Would guess Fernando did a mistake in S3. Lost over a second. Was quite faster than Rosberg until then.

Yeah, it looked like he will get lucky with Rosberg. Didn't happen, but still 2nd row. Shame Kimi could not be as fast in wet as he was in dry.

Well, we're ahead of Hulkenburg for now. Hopefully we can beat him tomorrow.

The main reason that he couldn't improve was because of the heavy rain in S 2 and S3 , all besides Rosberg didnt managed to improve so the track was arguably slower by that point.

The worst thing for me personally is Red Bull having better car then us already. After that madness they experienced during testing.

7 tenth to RB ... even they struggled during testing all the time ...
and now they close to Merc ... and we ...
"If I was driving for Red Bull [from 2008] probably I would have more championships, but because they were dominating between 2010 and 2014 probably I would never have driven for Ferrari. I am very happy and very proud to drive for Ferrari, all my time there.

They seem to have probably the best car out there aerodynamically. They are brilliant in corners, but are loosing heavily in the straights. In dry, they were loosing close to 1 sec in the first sector, but gaining chunks in the middle one. Just wait till they get the engine running full power...

Don't think the Red Bull is better than us for now. It's the wet conditions that suit their car. But yes it's extremely worrying that they can improve their car performance by so much and so quickly. It makes a mockery out of all the other teams.

RBR, has always had good chassis, its just the PU that let them down. No surprise that they ironing the little gremlins out and near front. Why so surprised?

Not bad quali for us really.

Well done our boys, especially Fernando
A podium is possible tomorrow with so much depending on the weather.

Taking into account all the tricky conditions and everything that happened during quali I'd say that 4th and 6th positions are very good places for us where to start the race, so I'm happy. Anything can happen in the race and so let's see how it pans out tomorrow.

Sadly, they were as fast as we were in the third practice. And we have better drivers So I think their car is already ahaead of ours. Hopefully we can somehow push the development faster then them and Merc. It will be needed.

Fairly good qualifying result. But Mercedes is just too strong. We have a great shot at standing on the podium. I expect there to be more DNF's as the heat will take its toll on the cars.

A lot of us were hoping that the aero rule changes (ban of blown diffuesers mainly) will hamper them more. Looks like it didn't change a thing.

Little disappointed with Kimis 6th, he looked stronger in dry. Hopefully no rain tomorrow..

but they not out and out blowing us away are they? RBR only close to Merc due to the conditions. Its a long season, teams learnng the systems quick, we will be up there soon. We nearly there now.

We are losing time in final sector? That's interesting. It's simmilar to the first one, isn't it? Just a straights 2 middle-slow speed corners. And we are doing quite ok (fernando, don't know what happened to Kimi there) in the 1st sector.

Did you really think that these rule changes would stop Newey from making a good chassis? As much as I hate Red Bull, there's no denying that Newey can design some decent cars.
